DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

It's a busy night in the NHL with 12 games on the schedule. Hunting down low-ownership players isn't as critical to differentiate your lineup because of the deep player pool, so here is a look at a strong goalie candidate and seven skaters with salaries under $4,000.

GOALIE

Cory Schneider, NJD vs. ANA ($7,700): Anaheim will be playing its fourth road game in six nights to start the season, and the Devils typically play low-event games. Schneider has picked up where he left off last season, saving 63 of 68 shots (.926 save percentage) to start the year, and the Ducks are averaging a hearty 32.3 shots per game. Look for Schneider to easily approach 30 saves Tuesday.

CENTER

Mike Fisher, NAS vs. DAL ($3,900): The veteran has been utilized in fantasy-friendly ways to start the season. He's been centering Colin Wilson and James Neal while also settling in as the net-front presence on the No. 1 power play unit. Fisher's been up to the task, too. He has two points, three shots and two blocked shots with an average of 19:23 per night through the first two games of the season.

Christian Dvorak, ARI at OTT ($2,800): Receiving power play time and skating in the top six, Dvorak is a solid low-priced flier with upside. He registered a power play assist in the season opener while getting 16:17 of ice time. Ottawa has allowed 12 goals through three games, too.

WING

Travis Konecny, PHI at CHI ($3,900): Chicago has surrendered a whopping (for them, anyway) 11 goals through three games, and Konency has registered three assists with six shots on net through his first two career games. The rookie winger is receiving power play time (albeit it just 1:34 per game thus far) and is playing on a line with Sean Couturier and Jakub Voracek at even strength.

Artturi Lehkonen, MTL vs. PIT ($3,200): The rookie showed he was ready for the NHL with a sterling postseason run in Sweden's top division last year. He scored 19 points over 16 games en route to being dubbed the playoff MVP. Fast forward to this year, and he's skating on a promising second line with Tomas Plakanec and Alexander Radulov. Lehkonen has seven shots on net and a goal through two games.

Colin Wilson, NAS vs. DAL ($3,100): A nice piece with which to form a value stack alongside Fisher, Wilson is a low-floor, high-ceiling option. He hasn't been able to translate his talent into offensive production or fantasy results over a full season, and, at 26 years old, time is running out. Still, Dallas has allowed eight goals through its first two games, and Wilson will have a few opportunities to find the score sheet.

DEFENSE

Nathan Beaulieu, MON vs. PIT ($3,800): After an eight-point preseason, Beaulieu has already found the score sheet and is coming off a game where he received 20:16 of ice time. Pittsburgh is on the wrong end of back-to-back games and has backup Mike Condon set to face his former team. This is a nice setup for Beaulieu to stay hot.

Dmitry Orlov, WAS vs. COL ($3,600): Colorado enters on the wrong-end of back-to-back road games and has allowed eight goals through its first two games of the season. Orlov has jumped into the top-four mix and is receiving power play time (2:23 per game) with the No. 2 unit. He's also coming off a solid 29-point season in which he excelled in a smaller role.
