FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

It's a busy 11-game night in the NHL on Saturday. Here are a number of options to consider while assembling your FanDuel lineups.

GOALIE

Philipp Grubauer, WAS at CAR ($8,100): The Capitals have settled into their President Trophy form from last year at 9-3-1 and allowing just 2.15 goals against per game. However, you'll want to hold your nose with Washington on the wrong end of back-to-back games. Still, Grubauer has won both his first two starts with a .953 save percentage and just one goal allowed in each outing. Plus, the salary opens up a lot of cap relief.

CENTER

Sidney Crosby, PIT vs. TOR ($8,700): Look for a letdown spot from the Maple Leafs after they boat raced the Flyers on Friday. Crosby is scoring at an elite level (nine goals and 11 points through eight games), and his ice time is trending up with an average of 19:45 with 4:29 on the power play in his last two games. Plus, Toronto is allowing 3.57 goals per game, and call it crazy, but No. 87's salary stands out.

Aleksander Barkov, FLA vs. NYI ($5,600):
It's been a mediocre start for Barkov (seven points -- two goals -- through 14 games), but his salary reflects it. The top-line pivot also runs with the No. 1 power-play unit, and the Islanders allow 31.02 scoring chances per 60 minutes and 3.0 goals per game. This is a nice buy-low spot for Barkov.

WING

David Pastrnak, BOS at ARI ($5,600): The Coyotes allow the second-most goals per game in the league (3.62), and Pastrnak is scorching hot with nine goals and 42 shots on net through 12 games. Also, since entering the league, Pastrnak owns a seventh-ranked 2.33 points per 60 minutes at five-on-five among skaters with at least 1,300 minutes.

Jonathan Marchessault, FLA vs. NYI ($5,100):
While Marchessault has slowed lately with just three points -- two goals -- in his past seven games, but he's still generating a high shot volume (2.86 shots per game) and playing a top offensive role. As noted, the Islanders allow plenty of scoring chances and goals, and Marchessault pairs with Barkov as an excellent value tandem.

Charlie Coyle, MIN at PHI ($5,000):
The Flyers could easily bounce back from their 6-3 drubbing at the hands of Toronto on Friday, but the Wild have played just one game the last six days. Additionally, Minnesota is coming off an excellent 4-2 win over Pittsburgh on Thursday. Coyle has posted a solid 2.22 points per 60 minutes this year, and Philadelphia has allowed the most goals per game in the league (3.73).

DEFENSE

Ryan McDonagh, NYR at CGY ($4,900): After exploding out of the gate (nine assists through the first 10 games), McDonagh is mired in a four-game point drought with just three shots and three blocked shots. However, he's also still averaging huge minutes (24:21 with 3:47 on the power play) and attached to the highest scoring team in the league. The salary aligns for taking a bounce-back flier.

Anthony DeAngelo, ARI vs. BOS ($3,300):
A low-priced flier, DeAngelo has averaged 20:37 with 2:11 on the power play through his first two games and has started 60 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone. The former first-round pick owns significant offensive upside and has posted 50 points through 77 AHL games, including seven over eight outings this year.
