FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Picks

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

With Thanksgiving approaching, the schedule has been shaken up. As a result, Tuesday is unusually light with only five games. There are still enough options from which to choose, as a third of the league is in action. Here are some of the best values:

GOALIE

John Gibson, ANA vs. NYI ($8,500): Gibson has not impressed yet, as he only has a .908 save percentage. However, it's only been 15 games, and he's been better in every other NHL season. More to the point, the Islanders have been awful having lost four in a row, and are 2-4-4 in their last 10 games. Gibson is also quite cheap, so he could easily get you a win and help you save some money.

CENTER

Vincent Trocheck, FLA vs. PHI ($5,800): The Flyers, with their league-worst GAA, are always exciting to see on the schedule for daily fantasy players. A lot of Panthers are off to slow starts, but not Trocheck, who has 13 points and 46 shots on goal. He's also playing more than three minutes a night on the power play, which is certainly helpful against a team like Philly.

Auston Matthews, TOR vs. CAR ($5,600): Yes, Matthews hasn't been able to maintain his red hot start. However, he's still playing more than 17 minutes a night, and he's taken 67 shots on goal in 18 games. He doesn't need to score four goals again to earn this price, and he's got a very favorable matchup against the Hurricanes.

WING

Jeff Skinner, CAR at TOR ($6,400): Matthews has a good matchup against Carolina, but the Maple Leafs have been even worse at goal prevention than the Hurricanes. With seven goals, 15 points, and 58 shots on goal in 16 games, Skinner is another player who got off to a hot start but has remained solid throughout.

William Nylander, TOR vs. CAR ($5,000): It's not 2002, so it's interesting to see so much attention is being paid to a game between Toronto and Carolina. Nylander has 14 points, eight of which have come on the power play. Of Toronto's big three rookies, he's the least expensive, but there is still plenty of potential value.

Andrew Cogliano, ANA vs. NYI ($4,300): The Islanders' Jaroslav Halak has seen better days, currently sporting a 3.08 GAA and a .905 save percentage. Cogliano doesn't play on the power play, but he's still posted five goals and four assists. If you are looking for a lower-priced option, Cogliano could really pay off.

Jonathan Marchessault, FLA vs. PHI ($5,400): Marchessault hasn't been able to keep up his torrid scoring pace, yet he hasn't fallen off the cliff. He's got nine goals on 54 shots on net, which is an unusually high shooting percentage, but at least he's taking his chances. Additionally, he has five power-play points, with a great chance to rekindle that early season form against the Flyers.

DEFENSEMEN

Zdeno Chara, BOS vs. STL ($4,600): While Jake Allen has played better in his last three starts, he still only has a .910 save percentage. It's not all about points with Chara when it comes to value. He's also blocked 40 shots, and St. Louis has plenty of offensive firepower. The 39-year-old still plays more than 23 minutes a night, so he will definitely be involved. That helps him help you in daily fantasy.

Cam Fowler, ANA vs. NYI ($4,500): Even with the return of Hampus Lindholm, Fowler has a big role with the Ducks. If nothing else, he's playing almost four minutes a night on the power play, with six power-play points. The Islanders have been awful on the penalty kill, and they've struggled at just about everything recently; that's definitely a point in Fowler's favor.
