DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

It's a rare light Tuesday in the NHL with just five games scheduled. Here are a handful of players across multiple price ranges to consider when assembling your DraftKings lineups.

GOALIE

John Gibson, ANA vs. NYI ($7,900): With a career .924 save percentage and 2.10 GAA at the Honda Center, Gibson checks out as a solid value option Tuesday. The Islanders are averaging just 2.5 goals per game (1.8 away from home), and they're travelling across the continent for the tough road date.

CENTER

Ryan Getzlaf, ANA vs. NYI ($6,600): The Islanders enter allowing the fourth-most high-danger scoring chances per game and have to travel across the country for this contest. Getzlaf has gone 13 games without a goal, but still maintained respectable production with 11 assists during that stretch. He's also been better at home this season, with eight helpers through six games. Getzlaf is also the No. 1 offensive center in all situations for the Ducks.

Denis Malgin, FLA vs. PHI ($3,200): Two outings removed from an impressive nine-game run in which he scored four goals and seven points, Malgin checks out as a potential low-priced flier. He should have low ownership, and the Flyers have allowed the most goals per game in the league this season (3.42).

WING

Jussi Jokinen, FLA vs. PHI ($4,200): Bumped up to the top line alongside Aleksander Barkov and Jaromir Jagr, Jokinen receives a nice fantasy boost and presents great value at this salary. He logged 21:38 of ice time with 3:51 on the power play during Sunday's game, too. Remember, he's also just a season removed from a 60-point showing.

Nick Ritchie, ANA vs. NYI ($4,200): He hasn't had a banner start to the year with just four goals and a helper through 17 games, but Ritchie remains on the No. 1 line with Getzlaf and Corey Perry. As noted, this is a great matchup, and Ritchie creates the cap space to spend up elsewhere. He could also help mitigate the salaries of his high-priced linemates in a stack.

Connor Brown, TOR vs. CAR ($3,100): After posting elite offensive numbers in the OHL and AHL on his way up the ladder, Brown is receiving more ice time of late (16:09 over the past four games), and he even saw a chunk of time with the man advantage (1:18) last time out. He's nothing more than a low-priced flier, but Brown has passed the eye test all season, and he had a breakout four-point game Thursday.

DEFENSE

Kevin Shattenkirk, STL at BOS ($5,200): This salary isn't prohibitive enough to fade the elite offensive defenseman. Shattenkirk has 14 points with four goals through 19 games thus far, and among all skaters with at least 100 power-play minutes over the past three seasons, his 7.86 points per 60 minutes led the league.

Hampus Lindholm, AHA vs. NYI ($4,200): Now six games into his season, Lindholm is coming off his best performance of the year in which he notched two assists in a season-high 23:30 of ice time, including 5:26 with the man advantage. As noted, this is a cushy matchup, too.
