FanDuel NHL: Saturday Picks

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

FanDuel's main contests begin at 7 p.m. EDT and consist of the eight evening games. Here are a handful of selections across multiple price points to consider while assembling your lineups.

GOALIE

Roberto Luongo, FLA vs. VAN ($8,700): With 10 goals allowed during his three-game losing streak, this is a buy-low spot for Luongo. He's posted a solid .923 save percentage and 2.25 GAA despite the Panthers' struggles, and Vancouver also enters averaging just 2.3 goals per game. There is also potential for Luongo to be scarcely owned.

CENTER

Sean Monahan, CGY vs. WPG ($6,600): Following a slow start (eight points through 24 games), Monahan has hit stride lately with eight points -- three goals -- over his last six games. The Jets also allow 3.13 goals per road game this season, and Monahan remains a fixture on the No. 1 power-play unit. Winnipeg kills penalties at just 78.9 percent, too.

Bryan Little, WPG at CGY ($5,600): Through six games since returning from a lower-body injury, Little has averaged 18:07 of ice time and 2:01 with the man advantage. He's now gone consecutive games without a point, but Mark Scheifele's return should actually help Little. The 28-year-old pivot presents nice value Saturday, as despite Chad Johnson's excellent run (.948 save percentage and 1.57 GAA over his last 12 games), there is negative regression ahead for Calgary defensively.

WING

Filip Forsberg, NAS at ARI ($6,600): The Coyotes allow the most high-danger scoring chances per game in the league (13.67), and Forsberg is mired in a major goal-scoring funk. His 3.3 shooting percentage is unsustainbly low, and Forsberg's offensive role hasn't changed this year. The 22-year-old winger is going to shake his puck luck sooner than later, and Saturday's the perfect setting.

William Nylander, TOR at BOS ($5,200): Much has been made about Nylander's role this season, and he's sporting a three-game point drought. However, he looks locked into a checking role alongside Nazem Kadri and Leo Komerov, which presents against-the-grain potential. The trio has combined for 12.19 scoring chances per 60 minutes at five-on-five this year, after all.

Kevin Labanc, SAN vs. CAR ($3,300): After scoring 127 points in the OHL last year, Labanc has four goals and nine assists over eight games in the AHL. He scored his third game for the Sharks on Friday, and he played most of the night with Logan Couture on the second line. At this salary, Labanc is a potential source of cap relief with a dash of upside.

DEFENSE

Roman Josi, NAS at ARI ($6,800): As noted, Arizona checks out as a soft matchup, and Josi has found his high-end fantasy form lately. The cross-category machine has eight two goals, eight points, 27 shots and 11 blocked shots with an average of 25:11 of ice (3:20 on the power play) through his past nine games. Josi is also locked into top minutes in all situations to help buoy his high floor.

Justin Schultz, PIT at TAM ($4,000): While his current five-game point streak -- three goals and five helpers -- isn't predictive of future results, Schultz is playing offensively tilted minutes and registering plenty of shots on net. He has 28 shots over his past 12 outings and has begun 55.3 percent of his five-on-five shifts in the opponent's zone. Additionally, Schultz is receiving time with the No. 2 power-play unit, and Tampa Bay has allowed four or more goals in five of its last seven games.
