FanDuel NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

The main event contests at FanDuel consistent of the nine evening games that begin at 7 EST. Here are a handful of players across multiple price ranges to consider while assembling your lineups.

GOALIE

Michal Neuvirth, PHI vs. NJD ($7,700): The Flyers return from their five-day break to host the Devils, which sets up as a nice fantasy spot, especially with New Jersey on the wrong end of back-to-back games. Neuvirth has been limited to 13 appearances and struggled when between the pipes with a 3.30 GAA and .877 save percentage. However, his poor play should keep his ownership down for the ripe matchup. The Devils have scored just 2.04 goals per road game and generated the fifth-fewest scoring chances per 60 minutes (24.39).

CENTER

Evgeny Kuznetsov, WAS at DAL ($6,600): The Stars are allowing the third-most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (12.1) and have surrendered 18 goals through their last four games. This is an affordable price to utilize Kuznetsov in the soft matchup because the pivot also has three goals, 13 points and 18 shots in his last nine games.

Nick Cousins, PHI vs. NJD ($3,200):
Moving up the depth chart to play with Sean Courturier and Jakub Voracek, Cousins checks out as a low-priced flier. The pivot also receives looks with the No. 2 power-play unit and offers cap relief to stack your lineup at other positions.

WING

Nikita Kucherov, TAM at ARI ($7,700): Without a multi-point showing in any of his last eight games, Kucherov lands in a ripe matchup to breakout. Arizona allows the most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (13.7), and Kucherov boasts a third-ranked 3.38 points per 60 minutes among all skaters with at least 700 minutes.

Justin Williams, WAS at DAL ($6,000):
As noted, this is a juicy matchup for Williams to continue his torrid offensive stretch. He's up to 14 goals, 22 points and 48 shots in his last 22 games dating to early December, and he combines with linemate Evgeny Kuznetsov as a cost-effective duo.

Brendan Perlini, ARI vs. TAM ($3,500):
The 20-year-old winger has four goals, five points and 13 shots with an average of 2:45 of power-play time in his last six games. Playing for the Coyotes is an obvious hit, but Perlini is near minimum price, has first-round pedigree and likely will be scarcely owned Saturday.

DEFENSE

Brent Burns, SAN vs. COL ($8,200): The last two seasons, Burns paces all defensemen in points (2.22) and shots (9.63) per 60 minutes. So, with a high-end matchup, spending up for him in a deep player pool could reward. Colorado has allowed a league-high 3.73 goals per 60 minutes in its last 25 games, and often, searching for value on the blue line is a popular approach with plenty of games on the docket. There's a chance Burns is under-owned.

Dion Phaneuf, OTT at TOR ($4,600):
The 31-year-old veteran is having a nice cross-category campaign with six goals, 18 points, 93 shots and 88 blocked shots while averaging 23:03 of ice time (2:45 with the man advantage) in 43 games. Toronto allows the third-most scoring chances per 60 minutes (29.58), and Phaneuf provides a nice fantasy floor with a splash of upside against his former club.
