FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Picks

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

You won't be able to play daily fantasy hockey this weekend on account of the All-Star break, so get into the action while you can. There are 10 games Tuesday, and here are some of the values that most tickle our fancy:

GOALIE

Pekka Rinne, NAS vs. BUF ($9,100): The Sabres have gone 6-3-1 in their last 10 games, but they are only 8-10-6 on the road. Besides, the Predators are 7-3-0 in their last 10, and they are 12-5-5 at home. Additionally, Buffalo has averaged 2.37 goals per game, while Rinne boasts a 2.34 GAA and a .921 save percentage.

CENTER

Eric Staal, MIN at DAL ($6,500): The move to Minnesota has really suited Staal, who has 40 points in 46 games. He has also taken 122 shots on goal, including 25 in his last eight games. Dallas has allowed 3.15 goals per game, and their penalty kill ranks 29th in the league. Staal has notched 11 power-play points, so he can take advantage here.

Ryan Johansen, NAS vs. BUF ($6,500): Buffalo's offense has struggled, but they haven't been any better defensively. They've given up 33.1 shots on goal per contest, and they are dead last in penalty-kill percentage. Johansen has averaged 3:03 minutes per game on the power play, where he's tallied 14 of his 35 points.

WING

Phil Kessel, PIT vs. STL ($7,400): The Blues have allowed 3.11 goals per game, thanks largely to a team save percentage of .887. Jake Allen has struggled recently, and projected starter Carter Hutton isn't faring much better. Kessel is having an excellent season, having tallied 45 points in 46 games. He's remained hot over his last 12 games, notching 12 points during this stretch.

Mikael Granlund, MIN at DAL ($6,800): The poor defensive play of the Stars, particularly on the penalty kill, has already been established. Granlund has 10 power-play points, but he's recently been hot in all aspects of the game. He's riding a seven-game point scoring streak, and has put 20 shots on goal over his last six tilts.

Marian Hossa, CHI vs. TAM ($6,500): It took Hossa a little time to get back in the swing of things after returning from a five-game absence, but he's in good form now. Over his last three games, he's got five points, and he's averaging 11.7 fantasy points per game overall. Tampa Bay has allowed 2.92 goals per game on the season, but they've been decidedly worse this month with a GAA of 3.70.

Tanner Pearson, LOS at NJD ($5,800): Pearson's play has really picked up over the last few weeks. In his last 13 games, he has seven goals on 41 shots. His power-play minutes have also increased, as he averaged 2:48 with the extra man over that span. The Devils have allowed 31.2 shots on goal per game, so Pearson should be able to continue racking up the shots.

DEFENSEMEN

Colton Parayko, STL at PIT ($5,300): Parayko has taken quite a few shots this season, notching 114 in 47 games. The Penguins have given up 32.4 shots on goal per game, so he should be able to keep up his production. On top of that, Pittsburgh leads the league in shots on goal per game. Parayko has blocked 76 shots, and should have plenty of chances to add to that total.

Jake Muzzin, LOS at NJD ($4,800): Muzzin's numbers are a little down this season, but he's still averaging 22 minutes per game as Los Angeles' top-pairing left defenseman. He's also picked up the offense recently, tallying 29 shots over his last nine games. We've already mentioned the number of shots the Devils have been giving up, and New Jersey also ranks 19th in goals allowed per game.
