FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

FanDuel NHL: Tuesday Value Plays

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

On Valentine's Day, you might get somebody some flowers or candy. However, why not do something for yourself and pick a good daily fantasy hockey lineup? There are seven games Tuesday, and here are the players that look like the best values. Hopefully, they'll provide you with a happy Valentine.

GOALIE

Cory Schneider, NJD vs. COL ($8,400): Schneider has had a season to forget, but has posted a 2.19 GAA and a .933 save percentage in his last six starts. And generally speaking, you don't need to stand on your head to get a win against the Avalanche. Colorado ranks last in both goals scored per game and goals allowed per game, making them pretty much the worst team in the league. In other words, there's no easier team to pick up a win against.

CENTER

Leon Draisaitl, EDM vs. ARI ($6,500): Draisaitl has hit the 20-goal mark for the first time in his career, and it only took him 52 games. Nine of those goals have come on the power play, with 18 power-play points overall. The Coyotes have allowed 3.17 goals per game, and they played on Monday. That means Mike Smith will either have to play both nights of a back-to-back, or Louis Domingue (3.19 GAA, .897 save percentage) will be in net.

Bryan Little, WPG vs. DAL ($6,200): Since returning from injury, Little has been on a tear for the Jets. He's averaged 12.9 fantasy points per game, and has tallied 13 points over his last 11 games. His shooting percentage is admittedly a little high, but the Stars have allowed 3.18 goals on 30.5 shots on net per contest. Dallas doesn't look like the team to put an end to Little's hot stretch of play.

WING

Taylor Hall, NJD vs. COL ($6,800): Colorado has given up a whopping 3.40 goals per game, which is 0.22 goals per game more than the second-worst team. Hall hasn't been as prolific as expected in terms of goal scoring, but he's still racked up 148 shots in 45 games. Since the beginning of January, he's notched 63 shots on net in 18 games, along with 13 points. If he shoots at his usual rate, it wouldn't be surprising to see Hall light the lamp against the Avalanche.

Mark Stone, OTT vs. BUF ($6,300): The Sabres have the 29th-ranked penalty kill, which probably has Stone licking his chops. He's averaged 3:10 per game with the extra man, totaling 12 points during that time. Buffalo also has allowed a league-worst 34.1 shots on goal per game, so Stone could still help your fantasy lineup even when he isn't out on the power play.

Patrick Eaves, DAL at WPG ($5,400): It's been a February to forget for the Jets, as they've allowed a league-worst 4.20 goals per game this month. Meanwhile, their penalty kill is now ranked 27th in the league. Eaves has been a major power-play force, tallying 16 power-play points (11 goals) while averaging 3:12 minutes per game with the extra man. Additionally, he's notched 33 shots on goal in his last 10 contests.

Milan Lucic, EDM vs. ARI ($5,000): Lucic has perhaps not contributed as expected this season, but the fact remains he still plays alongside Connor McDavid on Edmonton's top line, and he's also on the Oilers' first power-play unit. The power play is one place where Lucic definitely hasn't disappointed, hitting 15 points with the extra man. The Coyotes, in addition to having allowed 33.5 shots on net per game, have the 26th-ranked penalty kill. Lucic is available at a rather reasonable price, so he can still be a real value in this matchup.

DEFENSEMEN

Johnny Boychuk, NYI vs. TOR ($4,700): The points haven't necessarily been there for Boychuk (19 this season), but he still averaged a respectable 10.7 fantasy points per game. How has he achieved that? Because he's amassed 120 shots on net and 103 blocked shots in 50 games. The Maple Leafs have allowed 32.3 shots on goal per game, which is the third-worst average in the league. Even if the points aren't there, Boychuk has proven he can still be a good fantasy value.

Andrej Sekera, EDM vs. ARI ($4,300): You probably don't need to hear again about Arizona's defensive woes or the fact they are going to be on the second night of a back-to-back. So, instead, here's why Sekera is an enticing option Monday: He's averaged 22:01 per game, including 2:19 on the power play, where he's totaled nine points. In his last seven games, he's registered 18 shots on goal, a decent total for a defenseman. He's also blocked 12 shots during that stretch, with 99 on the season.
