FanDuel NHL: Saturday Picks

FanDuel NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our FanDuel NHL series.

Saturday's contests at FanDuel consist of all 10 evening games in the NHL. Here are a number of players to consider across multiple prices ranges for your FanDuel lineups.

GOALIE

Cam Talbot, EDM vs. DET ($8,600): The Red Wings enter on the wrong end of back-to-back road games after losing 3-2 in overtime to Calgary on Friday. The Oilers, on the other hand, have been off since Tuesday and are rested following a six-game road trip. This is a good schedule spot, and Talbot has been a reliable netminder with a rock-solid .920 save percentage and 2.38 GAA this year. Detroit has averaged just 2.39 goals per game, too.

CENTER

Jack Eichel, BUF vs. TAM ($7,400): With at least one point in 10 of his last 11 outings and three goals, 15 points and 43 shots during that stretch, Eichel is scorching hot. His high shot volume (12.6 shots per 60 minutes), hefty role (20:12 during the 11-game run) and role on the No. 1 power-play unit make him a high-floor, high-ceiling investment, and the price is reasonable. Buffalo also grabs the Lightning on the wrong end of consecutive road games.

Bryan Little, WPG vs. COL ($4,900):
Colorado allows the most goals per game and has the fifth-worst team save percentage (.899) in the league. Little snapped out of an eight-game dry spell with a multi-point outing Thursday and is projected to continue playing with Blake Wheeler and Nikolaj Ehlers at five-on-five and center the No. 1 power-play unit. This salary opens up spending room and doesn't match Little's solid 2.64 points per 60 minutes this season.

WING

Jonathan Huberdeau, FLA vs. DAL ($6,400): It's been six games and 17 shots since Huberdeau's last goal, and he has just three helpers during the stretch. This is a ripe bounce-back spot, though. Dallas allows the second-most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (12.07), second-most goals per game (3.23) and owns the worst team save percentage in the league (.893). Additionally, while Huberdeau has been a little cool of late, he's still posted a 2.99 points and 10.06 shots per 60 minutes for the campaign.

Sam Reinhart, BUF vs. TAM ($5,500):
The Lightning enter on the wrong end of back-to-back road games after losing 5-2 to Pittsburgh on Friday, so this sets up favorably for Buffalo. Reinhart is coming off a multi-point effort Thursday, and he has a solid five goals, 10 points and 38 shots through his past 12 games. This is a reasonable price, and especially considering his role on the lethal Buffalo No. 1 power-play unit.

Gabriel Landeskog, COL at WPG ($5,000):
While Landeskog has found the scoresheet in just one of his last eight games, it was a two-goal, three-point showing, so there is still some upside. Winnipeg is on the wrong end of a back-to-back set and has allowed a healthy 3.14 goals per game, too. Additionally, Ondrej Pavelec and his underwhelming .888 save percentage and 3.55 GAA might don the blue paint for the Jets. Landeskog is worth considering as a contrarian flier.

DEFENSE

Dustin Byfuglien, WPG vs. COL ($5,900): As noted, this is a solid matchup for Winnipeg, and Byfuglien is playing his best hockey of the campaign lately with two goals, seven points and 26 shots while averaging 28:05 of ice time (2:54 with the man advantage) through his last six games. This salary doesn't match his recent uptick in offensive production or hefty role.

Tyson Barrie, COL at WPG ($4,500):
While it's certainly been a disappointing season for the Avalanche, and Barrie's numbers are down, it's already been built into this salary. After recording a fourth-ranked 1.79 points per 60 minutes among all defensemen with at least 4,000 minutes through the previous three seasons, his current 1.28 mark underwhelms. However, he's registered two goals, four points and 21 shots through his past seven games and stacks nicely with Gabriel Landeskog as a modest-priced, high-upside stack.
