An MRI will happen in the next day or so, and my money is on a complete ACL tear, partial MCL tear and maybe even dislocated patella after that deliberate attempt to injure by Alexander Edler. The patella injury would be an odd one in combination with the others, but the pain seemed off the charts. It's not often you see a guy writhing on the ice like that. Recent Carolina Hurricanes Team News RotoWire Update   6/26/2009 Carolina will focus on size in the upcoming draft, according to the Raleigh News & Observer. The Hurricanes will have to wait until late in the first round (they have the #27 pick overall) before making a selection, but the N&O notes that GM Jim Rutherford is confident that there will still be very capable players available at that point. Even so, any players selected will take a significant period of development before making an impact at the NHL level; Carolina amateur scouting director Tony MacDonald told the paper, "The player we take at 27 probably will be three to five years away from being in our lineup."
