Whoa -- Jay Feaster tossed the sixth, 22nd and and 28th picks in this year's Entry Draft at the Avs for the top pick overall, but was rebuffed. I'd consider it in a deep draft like this one, particularly if you're planning on taking Seth Jones. No offense, but it just takes a while for defenders to deliver and it'd just make Feaster look worse ... unless he really was targeting Nathan McKinnon. I like what Corey Crawford has done, but Team Canada? Really? I'm not sure I'll ever be sold on a puck blocker being a better twinetender than a real athlete. Dan Paille, you da man. It was a beautiful snipe, though. The Bruins' fourth line sure came up big. There was really nowhere but up for the Bruins after that first. Yikes. The Bruins climbed the hill over the course of the game while the Hawks lost serious steam. Bad combination for Chicago. I dunno about that no-goal call in the first. I know there's that thing called "intent" to blow the whistle, but that was awfully late. Sergei Bobrovsky and Jonathan Huberdeau were no-brainers. But P.K. Subban and Alexander Ovechkin -- agree or disagree? For the past three seasons, the Panthers and Buffalo Sabres shared an affiliation with Rochester. Florida will supply the Americans with a full roster of players for the 2008-09 season. Established in 1956, the Americans are the second-longest running franchise in the AHL, having won six Calder Cups as league champions.   6/13/2008 Peter DeBoer was named as the new head coach of the Florida Panthers on Friday. The Ontario native will be formally introduced by the Panthers during a news conference Monday. DeBoer, 40, was a front-runner to fill the Ottawa Senators’ coaching vacancy after guiding the Kitchener Rangers of the Ontario Hockey League to a 53-11-0-4 record this past season. But the Senators ultimately hired Craig Hartsburg, who was officially introduced Friday morning. DeBoer takes over for Jacques Martin, who coached the Panthers for the past three seasons. Martin was relieved of his duties in April but stayed with the club, becoming the general manager. DeBoer also coached the Plymouth Whalers and Detroit Whalers of the OHL prior to joining Kitchener, where he spent the last seven seasons. He is one of five coaches to ever win 500 games in the OHL, recording 539 career victories. Florida has not made the playoffs since 2000 and has finished no better than third in the Southeast Division in each of the past five seasons. The Panthers went 38-35-9 this past campaign.
