Daley, who collected a power-play assist in a 2-0 win over Chicago on Wednesday, has recovered from a broken ankle. "I feel I've been good for a while now," Daley told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I'm not too worried about it or concerned about it."
Despite playing against AHL regulars Tuesday, Pouliot did little to stand out. "I thought Derrick was ... OK," coach Mike Sullivan said to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I'd like to see him be more assertive on the ice with his decision making. Just see him be a little bit quicker, a little more decisive. I think that will come in time. There's obviously a lot of rust involved for the player."
Fleury will see significant preseason minutes to prepare him for regular-season play. "We'll listen to (goalie coach Mike Bales) on what we think is best for Marc and getting him to his A-game," coach Mike Sullivan told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "We have a little bit of a game plan here going through the exhibition season where we can ramp Marc up so that when the regular season starts, Marc is in the best position to be successful."
The Penguins are looking for Maatta to take his game to another level in 2016-17. "He played top-four minutes most of the year for us as a 21-year-old," coach Mike Sullivan told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I think that speaks volumes for how the coaching staff feels about him as a player and a person. He's got great hockey sense. He's very competitive. We're constantly striving to get better, and as young as Olli is, we think his game can get to another level."
