Scores come-from-behind win against Andrew Sanchez
MiddleweightUFC
December 1, 2017
Janes defeated Andrew Sanchez via TKO (punches) at 0:58 of Round 3 at the TUF 26 Finale on Friday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Janes came about as close to losing as possible before coming back to win via third round stoppage. His striking defense in this fight was absolutely dreadful. He spent the first round walking forward, throwing a slow jab and holding his head straight in the air. Sanchez unloaded some heavy shots in the first round and nearly finished the fight. However, Janes stayed in it. Janes continued to pressure Sanchez, and that was the story of the fight. Sanchez was exhausted and Janes kept throwing. The shots were not very hard but the accumulation eventually wore down Sanchez. In the third round, Sanchez had nothing, and Janes threw until the referee stopped the bout. He needed this win to keep his job, and he did just that.

Draws Andrew Sanchez for TUF 26 Finale
MiddleweightUFC
November 30, 2017
Janes will face Andrew Sanchez in a middleweight bout at TUF 26 Finale on Dec. 1 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
ANALYSIS
Janes (9-3) almost pulled an upset over Jack Marshman this summer, but instead dropped his second fight in a row. He'll look to get back on track against Sanchez, who also recently suffered a loss. Janes maintains a 1-2 record with the UFC and could really use a win in Las Vegas.

MiddleweightUFC
July 16, 2017
Janes lost to Jack Marshman via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Sunday in Glasgow, Scotland
ANALYSIS
Early in this fight, Janes did not appear to be on Marshman's level in terms of striking. Marshman walked him down and landed power strikes. However, Janes took the strikes well and almost always answered back. In the second and third round, Janes continually walked forward and landed kicks and straight punches. Marshman's power and activity seemed to decline as the fight went on, but the judges thought he did enough to win.

ANALYSIS
Janes came out like a house of fire. He landed some hard shots and scored a takedown. However, once the fight went to the ground, Meerschaert remained calm. He locked on an armbar and forced the submission. Janes fell in the Octagon for the first time after winning his last December.
Defeats Keith Berish in UFC debut
MiddleweightUFC
December 9, 2016
Janes defeated Keith Berish via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night 102 on Friday.
ANALYSIS
One could argue that Berish landed the harder shots in this fight, but Janes outworked the the 31-year-old throughout, leading to the decision victory. While Janes offers some good, clean striking, he tends to keep his chin high, which could spell trouble when he steps into the cage against a more dynamic opponent. Janes was able to weather the shots on this night, however, allowing him to move to 9-1 in his professional MMA career. He has not suffered a loss since May of 2009.
