LightweightUFC
September 9, 2017
Clarke lost to Alex White via TKO (punches) at 4:36 of Round 2 at UFC 215 on Saturday in Edmonton.
ANALYSIS
Clarke announced his retirement after the fight. The 31-year-old spent the vast majority of his night serving as a punching bag for White. He ate countless elbows and power shots that would have ended the night of any mere mortal. Clarke appeared to be in terrific shape and he was competitive enough in Round 1 before the roof caved in on him in the second frame. Clarke had rarely fought over the last few years and he will end his UFC career with three straight losses.

Will fight Alex White at UFC 215
LightweightUFC
July 25, 2017
Clarke will fight Alex White at UFC 215 on Sept. 9, UFC.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Clarke has had a rough 12 months, losing to Joseph Duffy at UFC 90 in July of 2016, before being placed on a lengthy medical suspension to get clearance from a knee injury. He's now lost two straight fights and the long layoff could pose some issues against White. However, White has lost three of his last four fights, so both fighters are in serious need of a bounce-back win. With seven submissions over his 11 career wins, look for Clarke to try and take it to the ground.
Facing potential six month medical suspension
LightweightUFC
July 11, 2016
Clarke could be out for six months due to a potential right knee injury, MMAFighting.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Clarke is facing a possible medical suspension, and must get his knee cleared by an MRI or a doctor before his next fight in order to avoid it. The lightweight lost at UFC Fight Night 90 on Thursday in Las Vegas by submission to Joe Duffy within the first 30 seconds of the match. If he isn't cleared, he'll be out until January 4, 2017.
Quickly defeated by Joe Duffy
LightweightUFC
July 7, 2016
Clarke was defeated by Joe Duffy via submission (rear-naked choke) at 0:25 in the first round at UFC Fight Night 90 on Thursday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
This fight was over before it even got started. Clarke absorbed a huge shot in the opening moments of the first round, then took a few more hammer fists before Duffy got his back and secured the choke. Clarke's UFC record now stands at 2-4 after the quick and decisive defeat.
Underdog Thursday night
LightweightUFC
July 7, 2016
Clarke (+325) is a hefty underdog for his lightweight matchup against Joe Duffy at UFC Fight Night 90 on Thursday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Clarke's skill set will directly clash with the boxing specialty of Duffy, as his clearest path to victory will be to get this fight on the ground and slip Duffy into a submission. It will be no easy task, however, as Duffy owns a 55 percent takedown defense during his time with the UFC. If Duffy can keep the fight standing and thwart the takedown attempts of Clarke, this fight could be done early.
