Shamrock was defeated by Royce Gracie via TKO (Knee and Punches) at 2:22 of Round 1 at Bellator 149 on Friday in Houston, Texas.
ANALYSIS
After being crumpled by what appeared to be a groin strike, Shamrock laid helpless as Gracie rained hammerfists until the referee intervened. The 52-year-old Shamrock produced a press release after the fight announcing his intention to protest the controversial loss, but we're skeptical of his prospects. Shamrock has lost each of his two tentpole events in Bellator, and (understandably) appears to be damaged goods at this point in his career.

Shamrock will enter his open weight fight against Royce Gracie as a -115 favorite at Bellator 149 on Friday in Houston, Texas.
ANALYSIS
Expect that "-115" line to fluctuate right up until fight time, as this bout between legends of the sport is a true pick-'em. The 52-year-old Shamrock is an ambassador of the sport, and this eye-opening bout will undoubtedly generate ratings for the promotion, but it's a fair assessment to say that neither Shamrock nor Gracie should be competing at this level in 2016. Shamrock refrained from throwing any significant strikes in his most recent fight against Kimbo Slice, which could be an indication that this fight will take place on the ground.

Ken Shamrock: Will fight Royce Gracie again in January in Bellator
It was announced by Bellator on Friday night that Shamock will face Royce Gracie at Bellator's next tent-pole event which is scheduled to take place on February 19 in Houston.
ANALYSIS
Yes, Shamrock and Gracie are going to fight in the year 2016. The fight is expected to be contested at an "open weight". Bellator simply isn't getting the ratings that they want by promoting their young, talented fighters, so they are left to shell out big money to make match ups like this one. The 51-year-old Shamrock last fought in June, a unanimous decision to loss to the legendary Kimbo Slice.

Ken Shamrock: Knocked Out By Kimbo Slice Friday
Shamrock lost to Kimbo Slice via KO at 2:22 of Round 1 at Bellator 138 on Friday in St. Louis
ANALYSIS
It was obvious this fight was just a total money grab by Bellator, but it actually ended up being pretty entertaining. Shamrock got a couple of easy takedowns early and had Slice in a deep rear naked choke, but he couldn't get the finish and he ate a huge right hand after the two fighters got back on their feet. Shamrock is one of the legends of the sport and he keeps himself in great shape, but at 51 years old, he simply doesn't have anything left. Thankfully, he seems to realize that.

Ken Shamrock: Headlines Bellator 138 Vs. Kimbo Slice
Shamrock is scheduled to fight Kimbo Slice at Bellator 138 on Friday.
ANALYSIS
Shamrock enters the bout as a heavy underdog, as many don't think he has much left to offer at 51 years old. He was supposed to fight Slice back in 2010, but the fight was cancelled the day of the event after Shamrock suffered an accidental cut in his locker room. Shamrock's last professional bout was a King of the Cage (KOTC) event back in 2010 in which he lost by knockout in the first round. This fight seems to be building a lot of hype due to the names involved, but the quality of the product in the cage may have a tough time living up to it.
