Not taking on Brady
Luque is not fighting Sean Brady at UFC Atlantic City, according to MMAJunkie.com.
ANALYSIS
UFC CEO Dana White may have announced a Brady-Luque fight, but the supposed bout's participants never signed a bout agreement because the former kept dealing with an undisclosed injury, which will keep him out for a while. Once expected to be main eventing UFC Atlantic City, it is unclear if that will continue being the case or he gets pushed off the card entirely. There is still a reasonable amount of time though, around two months, for the UFC to find a new for Luque.

Will take on Sean Brady

No longer fighting at UFC 296
Luque will no longer fight Ian Garry (illness) at UFC 296 on Saturday, Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
The fight was called off once Garry caught the flu which later turned into pneumonia. Luque most recently earned a victory over Rafael dos Anjos in August, and it likely won't be long before his next fight is scheduled.

Leans on grappling to beat RDA
Luque defeated Rafael dos Anjos via unanimous decision (49-46, 48-47, 48-47) at UFC on ESPN 51 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
When Luque has struggled in recent years, it has been because he gets sucked into wild brawls and doesn't properly defend himself. Well, going up against a noted grappler in dos Anjos, Vicente was forced to switch up the game plan, and he thrived as a result. Luque landed 8-of-11 takedown attempts. This is a guy that hadn't had a single takedown in more than 5.5 years. It resulted in 12:01 worth of control time, which allowed Luque to drain the gas tank of RDA en route to the unanimous decision win. It's worth noting the massive size edge Luque possessed, so it's not clear if this strategy would work moving forward, but Vicente would be foolish to not try to get his grappling game going on a more consistent basis. The win comes on the heels of back-to-back defeats to Geoff Neal and Belal Muhammad in 2022.
