Camping World Truck
January 8, 2015
After four years of full-time competition in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Coulter is going to try something new. Without funding to continue into a fifth season with the Trucks, Coulter has climbed out of the No. 21 GMS Racing Chevy Silverado but will stay with GMS as its Team Relationships Coordinator, NBC Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
Contracting sponsorship and lack of funding have really taken a toll on the sport in recent seasons, and Coulter is just the latest example. He will stay on with GMS Racing to perform in an administrative role, but his racing days are effectively over. Coulter hangs up his racing helmet after one win and 43 Top-10 finishes in 91 career Camping World Truck Series starts.

Coulter is a free agent driver in 2016.
Coulter was one of the four drivers still in the running for the championship in that wild season finale last year at Homestead. The former Richard Childress Racing driver picked up his first career win in 2012 along with three poles and 15 Top-10 finishes, all personal bests. Coulter makes the jump to one of the best teams in the series in 2013 with Kyle Busch Motorsports’ No. 18 Toyota. Familiar crew chief Harold Holly that guided him last season also makes the jump to the KBM team, so chemistry and continuity shouldn’t be a concern. We expect big things for Coulter in 2013.
