To Retire After Rolex 24
IMSA
January 5, 2018
Pruett has announced this month's Rolex 24 at Daytona will be the last race of his storied professional career after 50 years and a combined 88 wins behind the wheel, sportscar365.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Without a doubt, Pruett will go down as one of the greatest drivers in racing history. His 60 wins and seven championships between Grand-Am and IMSA along with five overall wins in the Rolex 24 should stand the test of time. In addition, Pruett raced 10 seasons in CART, earning two wins and 15 podium finishes. "As an athlete, if you're fortunate enough to have a long and successful career and lucky enough to come to an end on your own terms, then you are truly blessed, and that's what I've done," Pruett said. "It's a magical place and I love it. What better way to say goodbye to a sport I love than to do it at this revered place, surrounded by my respected peers and diehard fans."

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2014
2008
2006
Pruett has not raced in a top 3 NASCAR series since 2008. He presently competes in Sports Car racing and is not expected to race in NASCAR this season.
Pruett has not raced in NASCAR since 2008, but he has been a yearly fixture in the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, where he wins races and championships. Pruett doesn't currently have any plans to compete in NASCAR in 2013, but we wouldn't rule out a one-off appearance on a road course during the year.
Pruett will field a fourth Ganassi Racing team at the Nextel Cup series' two road courses. This team is worthy of fantasy consideration on the road courses only.
