Wilson has died after suffering a severe head injury at Pocono Raceway on Sunday, The Associated Press reports.

ANALYSIS
Wilson was struck by a large piece of debris that broke off another car during Sunday's race. Following the incident, Wilson was airlifted from the track to a local hospital, where he was in a coma and in critical condition. Wilson's death is a tragic loss to the racing community and we send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
