Outlook
Edwards hopes to erase the malaise of 2009 in the upcoming season. As the No. 99 team showed us in 2008 they’re capable of winning many races and throwing their hat in the ring for the title. Edwards showed really no signs of shaking out of his slump in the closing stages of last season, and that’s a bit disconcerting. Still, the upside of this driver and team is tremendous. Edwards’ favorite tracks are intermediate ovals and the larger two-mile ovals of Fontana and Brooklyn, Michigan. Watch him closely in the second race of the season at Fontana for an indicator of what he’ll do in the upcoming season.
