Acosta had a save taken away Thursday after an official scorer realized he had mistakenly awarded one to him Wednesday, the Associated Press reports.

Recommendation:
Much to the chagrin of Acosta owners (many still recovering from celebrating his third save) the save was taken away following a review by the commissioner's office and the Elias Sports Bureau. To qualify for the save, Acosta would have had to start the inning with a three-run lead or enter the game with the potential tying run on base, at the plate or on deck. In fact, he entered with a 5-2 lead Wednesday after Will Ohman got the first out of the ninth inning.
