Nastasic blocked one shot and made four clearances, two interceptions, and one tackle to preserve the clean sheet in Sunday's 4-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Nastasic has started four of Schalke's six Bundesliga matches and earned his first clean sheet of the year, although Schalke will need to continue showing improvements before any of the back line can be trusted by fantasy managers. Schalke 04 face Augsburg on 15 October after the international break.

Schalke have activated a transfer clause in Nastasic's loan and made the defender's move permanent with a four-year contract, reports the Daily Mail.

Nastasic has made nine appearances for Schalke while on loan, and played the full 90 minutes in the club's 4-3 win over Real Madrid on Tuesday. The defender originally joined Manchester City in 2012 before heading to Schalke on loan this winter.

Nastasic has joined FC Schalke on loan until the end of the season, with the club getting an option to purchase him at the end of the season for a 13 million transfer fee, ESPN FC reports.

Nastasic has not featured for City since August, so it's pretty impressive they could get so much for a player that has played so little, regardless of age. He should get plenty of opportunities for playing time at Schalke, however, who have a decent defensive track record to maintain.

Despite recovering a knock, Nastastic was not in the 18-man squad to face Aston Villa on Saturday.

Nastasic has yet to make a Premier League appearance this season and with plenty of players ahead of him on the depth chart, he doesn't figure to make an impact any time soon.

Nastasic has recovered from a slight knock and he will be available for Saturday's Premier League match against Aston Villa, manager Manuel Pellegrini confirmed Friday.

Despite his return to fitness, Nastasic has barely played this season and is unlikely to start against the Villains.

Manchester City will listen to offers for Nastasic as the team prepares to sign Eliaquim Mangala from Porto, reports the Daily Mail.

Nastasic would only fall further down the depth chart with Mangala's arrival, which makes him surplus to City's plans for the season. He signed with the club from Fiorentina in 2012.

Nastasic's knee injury will prevent him from playing this weekend against Fulham and doctors are unsure what the problem is, ESPN reports. Manager Manuel Pellegrini said "We are concerned because the doctor doesn't know what happened with him. He did all the tests that he needs but we can't know what happened with him so we continue taking other opinions. The doctor is in charge of that."

Pellegrini added saying "We don't know exactly. The player feels pain inside the knee but nobody knows what is that pain. Nastasic continues with some pain in his knee. He has at least a couple more weeks to recover." While Nastasic doesn't get regular time in the starting XI, City are already without Vincent Kompany this weekend and could use some more depth in the back line.
