Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini said Monday that Milner (knee) is 100 percent fit to face Barcelona in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Milner missed Saturday's 5-0 rout of Newcastle because of the injury, but with his return to fitness, he could slot right back into the starting XI in the attacking midfield alongside David Silva and Samir Nasri.

Milner has been ruled out for Saturday's match against Newcastle after picking up a knee injury during training.

Manager Manuel Pellegrini noted that the injury is not serious, and Milner could be available as soon as Tuesday's Champions League match against Barcelona. Samir Nasri could get the start in Milner's absence.

Milner came on as a second-half sub and scored off a free kick two minutes into stoppage time to steal a point during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Hull City.

Milner's goal was his only shot of the game after coming on in the 65th minute for Edin Dzeko, though he did add nine crosses. The goal was his first in Premier League play this season and his excellent free-kick goal may open up further opportunities this season.

Milner assisted on Sergio Aguero's 88th minute goal during Manchester City's 2-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

Milner has gotten more playing time of late with Samir Nasri sidelined with a groin injury, though he doesn't have nearly the upside of the Frenchman. Nasri is expected to return after the international break, so Milner could be back on the bench for City's match against Tottenham on Oct. 18.

Milner picked up an assist in Manchester City's 3-2 win over Everton on Saturday.

Milner, who is getting more playing time with Jesus Navas and David Silva both sidelined with ankle injuries, now has one goal and four assists in 29 Premier League appearances this season. With Navas and Silva unlikely to return for the final two games of the season, Milner should continue to see increased playing time.

Milner assisted on Martin Demichelis' goal in the 88th minute of Manchester City's 5-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.

Getting a rare start in Premier League play, Milner collected his second assist in league play this season. The start was Milner's first in 2014 and he remains a very unreliable fantasy player.

Tottenham may make a move for Milner this summer in an attempt to solidify the core team, while giving the midfielder more first-team action, reports the Daily Mail.

The London side is reportedly interested in rebuilding the squad around young English players, while getting rid of some players previous manager Andre Villas-Boas brought in. Milner has one year remaining on his contract with Manchester City, and could find greater playing options in London.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Milner (groin) was available off the bench for Monday's match at Manchester City, although he did not feature.

Milner was expected to return to action from a groin injury this coming Saturday, so it is certainly good news that he was fit enough to at least be on the bench for Monday's match. He doesn't get nearly enough playing time to be a legitimate fantasy contributor, so while his healthy status is a positive development, it likely doesn't affect too many fantasy teams in standard leagues.
