Mulumbu (foot) returned from his injury and made his Canaries debut in Tuesday's Capital One Cup match against Everton.

Manager Alex Neil said that Mulumbu ran himself into the ground in his 65 to 70 minutes played in the Everton match. He's not at the fitness level Neil wishes him to be, so look for him to get some rest and shorter appearances while he rebuilds his fitness.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mulumbu (foot) is back in full training but will not be rushed back to play in Sunday's match against Newcastle. "“We’ll have to monitor Youssouf. It’s important that he can potentially get an Under-21s game under his belt before we reintroduce him to first-team action, but he’s trained for three or four days," manager Alex Neil said.

Mulumbu hasn't played since coming over from West Brom over the summer. The holding midfielder did not score or tally an assist in 17 matches for West Brom last season.

Mulumbu continues to recover from his foot injury, but he is still a ways from training.

Manager Alex Neil noted that Mulumbu likely won't take very long to rebuild his match fitness given that he went through an entire preseason, but he still needs to wait for his foot to fully heal before he can get back to full training.

Mulumbu is expected to be out of action for several weeks after fracturing a metatarsal last weekend against Brentford, reports the Daily Mail.

The midfielder had surgery on the injury on Monday. The team said the injury would be assessed, but his recovery is expected to take several weeks.

West Brom will not exercise the one-year option on Mulumbu's contract, making him a free agent.

Mulumbu made 211 appearances for the club, but he was a very limited fantasy option and it is unclear if he'll be able to find another home in England.

Mulumbu came on in the second half for Craig Gardner but lasted just 12 minutes before picked up a straight red card for fighting with QPR's Joey Barton.

Mulumbu spends more time on the bench than he does on the pitch, so his suspension isn't likely to affect many fantasy rosters.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mulumbu has trained ahead of Saturday's game against Aston Villa. "We were worried about Youssouf Mulumbu’s ankle but he’s OK. He’s trained as well so they’re fine," manager Alan Irvine told the official club website.

Mulumbu (hamstring) has struggled with a niggling hamstring all season and was bothered by it again this week. Mulumbu will start in central midfield alongside Craig Gardner. The DR Congo international represents little value for fantasy soccer players due to extremely low numbers in the goal and assist columns.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Mulumbu (hamstring) has little chance of playing against Everton on Saturday after aggravating a hamstring injury whilst on international duty though it hinges on an assessment on Friday, manager Alan Irvine reported to the official club website.

Mulumbu (hamstring) has yet to be ruled out by manager Alan Irvine and his loss would be a big one as he’s the bedrock of the side’s central midfield. Mulumbu retains little fantasy value due to his defensive minded play that produces low numbers in the goal and assist columns.
