Samaras and Robbie Keane made up quite a nice duo for Celtic. Samaras and Theofanis Gekas should be one of the more formidable strike forces in Group B, which has Argentina, Nigeria and South Korea in it as well.

Samaras made the move in order to play at the top European level consistently. He hopes to parlay his experience at Celtic, specifically the Champions League, into national team selection by Greece for Euro 2008. Samaras will have to contend with Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, Scott McDonald and Chris Killen for playing time in the Celtic midfield.
