Michu officially joined Napoli on loan for the 2014-15 season, Swansea City's official web site reports.

Swansea bought Michu for only 2 million from Rayo Vallecano in 2012 and he created incredible value immediately, scoring 22 goals in all competitions. However, he was bothered by hamstring and ankle injuries last season that limited him to only 15 total appearances. A healthy Michu will surely help Napoli compete for the Scudetto this season.

Michu's representatives are in negotiations to have him join Serie A side Napoli on a season-long loan, The Guardian reports.

Michu had an excellent 2012-13 season for Swansea, scoring 22 goals, but he was plagued by injuries last season and made only 15 appearances. It's unclear why Swansea don't want to keep him around, but they seem intent on loaning him instead of selling him.

Michu has reportedly undergone a medical exam at Napoli ahead of a potential move to Serie A, The Guardian reports.

Michu has spent two seasons at Swansea after joining from La Liga side Rayo Vallecano. His initial season in the Premier League was very successful, as he scored 18 times in 35 appearances. However, last year was almost a complete loss, as he made only 15 appearances in an injury-laden season, scoring only two goals.

Michu has been ruled out of Saturday's match against Aston Villa due to his ongoing ankle injury, the club's official web site reports. "He's nearly there, but he just can't seem to get that swelling down," head coach Garry Monk said. "He is going to see the national doctor in Spain, so we will know more after today. I'm still hopeful that he will be able to play a part in the remainder of our season, but we have to be careful because it's important he gets the rest and comes back as strong as ever."

After a stellar season for the Swans last year, Michu has been a ghost this season, mostly due to ongoing injuries. At this point, he's likely to be more concerned with getting healthy for the World Cup.

Michu will not play Sunday against Chelsea due to an ankle injury, according to Gareth Vincent of the South Wales Evening Post.

There was no indication leading up to the match that Michu would miss out, so the news was a bit of a surprise. It certainly won't help the Swans against one of the better defensive teams in the Premier League.
