Chambers is ineligible to play in Arsenal's Premier League match against Hull City on Oct. 18 after the international break due to yellow card accumulation.

A pretty impressive run of yellow cards for Chambers, who hasn't even started every match this season. His absence is a big hit to the Gunners, as he was already starting due to the absence of Mathieu Debuchy (ankle). Manager Arsene Wenger has a few different options to replace Chambers at leftback, including using youngster Hector Bellerin or moving veteran Nacho Monreal, who has dealt with a back injury recently.

Chambers returned from a bout of tonsillitis to register his first clean sheet of the season in Arsenal's 3-0 win over Aston Villa on Saturday.

Chambers was held out of Tuesday's Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund due to the illness, but he is expected to be a mainstay in the starting XI with Mathieu Debuchy potentially out for three months with an ankle injury. Up next is an enticing home match against Tottenham next Saturday.

Chambers is considered 50/50 for Arsenal's Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday due to a bout of tonsillitis.

Chambers is expected to move into the starting XI with Mathieu Debuchy sidelined for a number of weeks with an ankle injury, and with Nacho Monreal also sidelined, the Arsenal back line is pretty beaten up heading into Champions League play.

Chambers played the entirety of Arsenal's season opener against Crystal Palace on Saturday, although he was shown a yellow card in the process.

Chambers was signed by Arsenal as a right-back this summer, but has started in central defense to wonderful results in his first two appearances for the Gunners. At 19-years-old, Chambers showed great composure and provided a steady presence in back versus Crystal Palace. However, with Per Mertesacker (rest) expected to return soon, Chambers should lose his starting spot in the near future, assuming Laurent Koscielny's Achilles ailment doesn't linger. Once the proven first-choice partnership of Mertesacker and Koscielny takes the pitch, Chambers figures to primarily serve as the Gunners' second-string right-back behind Mathieu Debuchy, but his recent displays showed he's comfortable centrally, if need be.

Chambers has joined Arsenal from Southampton on a long-term contract, the Gunners' official website reports.

Chambers moves to Arsenal following a successful debut campaign that saw him make 22 appearances (18 starts) for Southampton last season. While mostly playing right-back, Chambers helped the Saints finish with the Premier League's sixth best defensive record. Additionally, the current England Under-19 team captain can be deployed in central defense and midfield, offering versatility in various areas of the pitch. Considering Arsenal also signed the more experienced Mathieu Debuchy this summer, Chambers will likely be limited to reserve appearances, with fellow right-back Carl Jenkinson seemingly poised to be loaned out for the coming season.

Arsenal continue to be interested in bringing Chambers to the London club from Southampton, according to the Daily Mail.

Arsenal have been scouting the right-back for some time, and despite signing Matheiu Debuchy earlier this summer the organization is still interested in bringing Chambers into the fold.
