Gardner (ankle) will return to training on Monday, according to manager Tim Sherwood. Gardner has yet to make an appearance for Villa this season.

The 23-year-old spent last season in the Championship, making 35 appearances between Brighton & Hove Albion and Nottingham Forest. In those, he scored six goals and picked up nine yellow cards. While discipline could be an issue, Gardner will just try to find a footing in Villa's active 18 on match days.
