Lowton recorded his first clean sheet of the season Saturday during the 0-0 tie with West Ham.

Lowton started the season on the bench but has started the last three matches with Philippe Senderos (thigh) out with an injury. However, Senderos made a return to the pitch off the bench Saturday which could ultimately mean that Lowton will fall out of the starting XI when Villa faces Southampton on Nov. 24 after the international break.

Despite making 25 appearances for the Villans last season, the revamped squad is moving in another direction for the 2014-15 campaign. With Villa's productive start to the season, Lowton may have a hard time proving he deserves to get off the bench.
