Wanyama (ankle) is starting Saturday against Crystal Palace.

Wanyama missed last weekend's match against Aston Villa due to the ailment, but he'll slot back into the starting lineup in his return. While that's a plus, his fantasy value is rather limited in most formats because of his role as a holding midfielder.

Wanyama will be fit for Saturday's match against Crystal Palace after recovering from an ankle injury, the Southern Daily Echo reports.

The Kenyan was forced out of last weekend's match against Aston Villa after picking up the knock, but he was able to participate in training all week. Wanyama is likely to start, given that he is a fixture in the middle of the field for the Saints, but his sparse offensive contributions make him a lackluster fantasy option.

Wanyama will miss Saturday Premier League game with Sunderland due to suspension.

The Kenyan was sent off in the 78-th minute of the game versus Bournemouth for receiving a second yellow card. In his absence Jordy Clasie and Oriol Romeu are the favorites to pick up the two defensive midfield positions.

Wanyama (knock) is fit for Sunday's match against Liverpool, the Southern Daily Echo reports.

Wanyama apparently suffered the minor knock during last weekend's match against Leicester City, but he was able to train this week and will likely start at Anfield, though given his position as a defensive midfielder he's unlikely to have a meaningful fantasy impact in most formats.

Wanyama is suspended for the next two matches due to yellow-card accumulation.

Primarily a holding midfielder with limited fantasy upside in many formats, Wanyama will be eligible to return May 2 against Sunderland, with Stephen Davis a possible replacement.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman confirmed Thursday that Wanyama has recovered from his hamstring injury and should feature against QPR on Saturday.

Wanyama will be joined by Morgan Schneiderlin, who has recovered from a groin injury. Both could be inserted right back into the starting XI, with a number of healthy attacking midfielders ahead of them.

Manager Ronald Koeman said Thursday that Wanyama may return from his hamstring injury in "around two weeks."

It's unclear if Koeman was implying it would be two weeks before he is match fit or two weeks until he returns to training, but either way, it won't be a quick recovery. Wanyama was originally given a 4-to-5 week timeframe after suffering the injury Jan. 14 agains Ipswitch, so the latest estimate appears in line with that one.

Wanyama will be sidelined for four-to-five weeks after suffering a hamstring injury Wednesday against Ipswich, according to Henry Winter of the Daily Telegraph.

Southampton manager Ronald Koeman said after the match that he planned on playing Wanyama for 45 minutes, but the midfielder made it just beyond 44 minutes before suffering the injury. Making matter worse, Southampton will also be without Morgan Schneiderlin for a few weeks after he suffered a groin injury in the same match.
