Bacuna has only made four appearances this season for Aston Villa, one of which was a Capital One Cup match.

Bacuna isn't quite on the end of manager Paul Lambert's bench, but he certainly spends more time on it than on the pitch. With that in mind, the 23-year-old won't likely have much of an impact this season.

Bacuna has only made one appearance off the bench for Aston Villa during Premier League play in 2014-15.

The 23-year-old midfielder made 28 appearances for Aston Villa last year but is not receiving the same opportunity with the revamped Villans of this season. Unless injuries plague Villa, Bacuna will likely occupy the bench more often than not.

Bacuna was credited with a clean sheet in his return from a hamstring injury during Saturday's scoreless draw with Southampton.

Bacuna was relegated to the back four Saturday, a frustrating call for fantasy owners who have to start him as a midfielder in most leagues. Up next is a trip to Swansea, which could be a little more high-scoring than Saturday's affair.

Bacuna, who missed last weekend's match against Crystal Palace with a hamstring injury, is set to return Saturday against Southampton, the club's official web site reports.

Bacuna switches back-and-forth between the midfield and the back four, but it wouldn't be surprising if he pushed up this weekend as Villa look to fill the scoring void left by Christian Benteke, who is out for the season with a ruptured Achilles. Bacuna has five goals and an assist this season, although it's been over a month since his last score.

Bacuna scored in the 37th minute of Aston Villa's 4-1 win over Norwich City on Sunday.

Bacuna, who plays as a midfielder and a defender for Villa, has scored three goals in his last seven matches. He'll have to wait an extra week to try to start a goal streak, as Aston Villa's match against Manchester City next weekend has been postponed, which means his next shot comes March 15 against Chelsea.
