Hughes suffered a torn ACL during Saturday's match against Bolton, and he is expected to be sidelined for six months, the BBC reports.

Six months appears to be a fairly aggressive recovery timeline for Hughes, especially with a number of Premier League players taking much longer in their recoveries. Hughes, 20, has been on the transfer radar of a number of big clubs, but the latest injury will surely push that talk off for quite a bit.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Manchester United manager David Moyes has indicated an interest in signing Hughes from Derby in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Mail.

Moyes has previously said that he won't be spending a lot of money in the January window, but Hughes could be an opportunistic signing with an eye to the future. The midfielder is just 18 years old.
