Perisic scored a brace for free-scoring Wolfsburg as his side beat Stuttgart 4-0 Saturday.

It looks like last weekend's goal against Mainz has restored Perisic's confidence. After scoring his first goal of the campaign a week ago, Perisic added two more to his tally as Wolfsburg moved into second place in the Bundesliga. Perisic capitalized on confusion between Stuttgart defenders Oriol Romeu and Antonio Rüdiger to get Wolfsburg's first and then got his team's fourth when he converted Kevin De Bruyne's assist. That's 15 goals in four league games for Wolfsburg now and the scoring may well continue when they host Hamburg next weekend.

Perisic bagged his first goal of the season as Wolfsburg comfortably beat Mainz 3-0 Sunday.

Out with injury at the start of the season, Perisic has since struggled to match the form of last year which yielded him 10 Bundesliga goals. However he is now off the mark after scoring Wolfsburg's second goal of the evening, flicking in Naldo's header from close-range. Perisic had an effective game, terrorizing the Mainz defense alongside fellow winger Kevin De Bruyne in a comprehensive win. The victory should give Perisic an enormous amount of confidence and expect him to start finding the net more regularly.

Perisic scored a brace and his first goals of the season Monday as Croatia cruised to a 6-0 win over Azerbaijan in European Qualifying Group H.

Having been out with a shoulder injury, Perisic only played his first game of the season at the end of September. Three Bundesliga and one Champions League appearance later and the Croatian is still to find the net for his club. This game will therefore have been welcome relief with Perisic coming on as a first half substitute and getting two first half goals. First he scored an excellent header from Ivan Rakitic's free-kick and soon after headed a second from Danijel Pranjic's cross. Regardless of the quality of the opposition, the performance means that Perisic is up and running and will be looking to carry this form into Saturday's league fixture with Freiburg.

Perisic made his first start of the season following a shoulder injury as Wolfsburg defeated Werder Bremen 2-1 Saturday.

After having surgery on a fractured shoulder in the summer, Perisic has endured a frustrating start to the campaign. The winger who had such an impressive end to last season and an excellent World Cup is finally back on track as he made his second appearance and first start of the season. The Croatian had a difficult game, often being heavily marked, making it tricky to supply target man Ivica Olic. Nevertheless Wolfsburg fans will be delighted to see their talented midfielder back in action and he's sure to have several goals and assists to his name this year.

Perisic will have surgery on a fractured shoulder and is expected to miss up to 12 weeks of action, reports.

The Croatian attacking midfielder, who impressed at the World Cup, picked up the injury in this past Saturday's loss to Bayern Munich in the Telekom Cup. It's a big blow for Wolfsburg, as Perisic featured in all but one league match for the club last season, scoring 10 goals in all.
