Anichebe (thigh) is on the bench for Saturday's match against Crystal Palace.

Anichebe's return to fitness is a nice boost for Sunderland's depth, but he's unlikely to get enough playing time to be a viable fantasy option in most formats.

Kevin De Bruyne has been a fantasy star this season, but one of his midfield teammates could provide more bang for the buck this weekend against West Ham.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Anichebe (thigh) has been rehabilitating a thigh injury and could be available for playing time soon.

Anichebe was brought in at the end of the transfer period after being released by West Brom. If Anichebe is healthy, he is unlikely to receive playing time over Jermain Defoe. He is a low-end fantasy option at this juncture.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Anichebe is not match fit and is unlikely to feature in Monday's match against Everton.

The forward was brought in during the transfer window, but it's hard to see him being more than a substitute off the bench for Sunderland. But if Jermain Defoe picks up a knock, Anichebe will contend with Fabio Borini for time up front.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Anichebe signed with Sunderland on Friday, with the contract running through the end of the season.

Anichebe is simply being brought in for additional forward depth, as Fabio Borini will be out for a number of weeks, leaving only Jermain Defoe and Duncan Watmore up front. As a result of his spot in the pecking order, Anichebe's fantasy value is quite limited.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Anichiebe will be leaving West Brom after the club declined to re-sign him.

Anichebe's release should come as little surprise as he failed to make regular appearances on the pitch this year as he was in the starting XI just three times and was substituted in only an additional seven matches. In all, it has been a disappointing career at The Hawthorns for the forward following a nine-year run of decent form with Everton. In three seasons with West Brom, the 28-year-old recorded a paltry nine goals. It is unclear where Anichebe will land but he may have seen his last Premier League action.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Anichebe is considered questionable for Saturday's match versus Stoke because of a hamstring injury, the Birmingham Mail reports.

The Nigerian played well in his first start of the season last week against Newcastle, but he limped off the pitch in the second half after suffering the injury. He will be assessed ahead of Saturday's match, with Salomon Rondon or Saido Berahino likely to start if he is unable to achieve fitness in time.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Manager Tony Pulis said Thursday that Anichebe (groin) is still not fully fit and could miss this weekend's match versus Stoke.

Anichebe is not a lock to miss this weekend's match, but his two-week absence along with the injury confirmation by his manager do not bode well for his status. Anichebe only has one goal in 14 appearances this season so he shouldn't be near the top of your fantasy radar, fit or not.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Anichebe (groin) will not play Tuesday against Aston Villa, the Birmingham Mail reports.

West Brom are facing a full-on injury crisis up front, as Brown Ideye (knee) and Saido Berahino (foot) both suffered injuries Saturday against Manchester United and will have late fitness tests before Tuesday's match.
