Jones, who was battling a kidney bruise this week, was able to come off the bench and play the final nine minutes against Stoke City on Saturday.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw and Jones was unable to get a shot off in his limited time on the pitch. While he has very good size for an attacking player, he doesn't finish nearly enough to make him worthy of much fantasy consideration.

Jones could miss Saturday's match against Stoke City after suffering bruised kidneys during last weekend's win over Southampton, the Daily Star reports.

Jones left Stoke during the winter transfer period in a straight-up trade for Peter Odemwingie. He has been a nice addition to the Cardiff attack, although he remains a fairly limited fantasy player, even with revenge on his mind.

Stoke rejected an appeal from Jones for being fined 80,000 after refusing to play for the club prior to his move to Cardiff, reports the Daily Mail.

Jones sent a text to manager Mark Hughes to inform him he would not play against Liverpool in January, for which he was fined by the club. He has since transferred to Cardiff, but pursued the appeal with his former club through the PFA. The appeal was rejected, but Jones could appeal again to the Premier League.

Jones was on the bench to start Saturday's match against Liverpool, but was still able to pick up an assist after subbing on in the 70th minute.

Jones brought high expectations with him to Cardiff City when he joined in January. However, he has been a bit of a fantasy disappointment and has scored just one goal to go along with his assist. With his inconsistent playing time, Jones' fantasy value continues to decline.

Jones, who was inserted directly in Cardiff City's Starting XI after joining the club just days earlier, scored the match winner during Saturday's 2-1 win over Norwich City.

Jones had shown some scoring promise earlier in his career while seeing regular playing time with Southampton and Sunderland. In his last two-and-a-half seasons with Stoke City, he has seen his playing time and productivity take a slight dip. Jones will look to prove once again that he can be a top goal scorer, as he should see steady playing time in the Cardiff City lineup.

Cardiff City announced that Jones officially joined the club Tuesday.

Jones has struggled to get consistent playing time at Stoke over the last few seasons, so the move to Cardiff should surely help him get a little more time on the pitch.

Jones will join Cardiff City as part of a player swap with Stoke City, reports the South Wales Echo. The deal will send Jones to Cardiff City and Stoke City will receive Peter Odemwingie, pending both players passing medicals and agreeing to terms.

Jones has seen his playing time decrease with Stoke City the last couple of years. This season, Jones has featured in just seven Premier League matches producing zero goals or assists. He has scored four goals in Capital One Cup play proving his ability to score given the chance to be featured in the attack.

Manager Mark Hughes said that Jones will not play this week against Crystal Palace, after texting him the night before last weekend's match against Liverpool saying he would not play, the Daily Mail reports.

Jones was fined for refusing to play last weekend and the determination to not play him this weekend clearly stems from the same situation. Jones has trained with the team this week, although it appears that his days at Stoke are likely numbered.
