Barrios has joined Montpellier on a season-long loan from Russian side Spartak Moscow, L'Equipe reports.

Barrios, whose career has teetered into relative obscurity since scoring 35 German league goals for Borussia Dortmund from 2009-2011, will immediately be handed Montpellier's No. 10 shirt, which was most recently worn by Newcastle's Remy Cabella. For a team currently lacking offensive firepower, Barrios will hope to revive his career in Ligue 1.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Borussia Dortmund forward, Lucas Barrios, scored early twice in Dortmund's 3-1 victory over Wolfsburg on Sunday. That gives him a total of 8 and a tie for second in goals scored in the Bundesliga 2009/2010 campaign.

The Argentinian has only been in Germany since August, but he appears to be a fast learner. Expect Barrios to continue to impress throughout the remainder of the season.
