Before the end of the first half, Davies had a miss hit cross go into a the net of the confused Stoke City goaltender to give Bolton a lead they would give up in Sunday's 2-2 draw.

Since returning from a knee injury in March, Davies has scored five goals in all competitions for Bolton.

Bolton must be happy that Davies has returned successfully from a knee injury that held the striker out for most of February and some of March.

Davies scored for the third time this season as the Wanderers wrapped up three mammoth points with a 3-2 win over Wolves on Saturday.

The captain also scored mid-week in Bolton's FA Cup loss to Spurs. He has taken a substantial step back in form in 2011/12 however, but he has a lifelong spot at Bolton and it won't be over until he's ready to hang up his boots.
