Westwood netted a pair of goals on three shots on net in Saturday's 4-2 loss against Southampton.

This offensive explosion really came from nothing, as Westwood hadn't scored a goal all season. On both occasions, he received the ball in a crowded box to hit a first time finish past Fraser Forster. Westwood is a hard-working defensive midfielder and perhaps this outing was his reward for gutting out a solid campaign for a bad team.

Westwood (calf) is starting Saturday against Norwich City.

Westwood is a consistent starter for Villa, though his holding midfield responsibilities limit his fantasy upside fairly considerably.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Westwood (calf) is likely to be available for Saturday's match against Norwich City. "I could rely on Ashley Westwood. I am not 100% sure yet. But he could be back within the group," manager Remi Garde said.

The holding midfielder hasn't tallied an assist since Villa's opening day victory over Bournemouth, but is an integral piece of the team's starting XI. While discipline has been a problem for him, picking up seven yellow cards in FA play, which earned him a suspension already, Villa will hope to have him back in the lineup as they've picked up just one point from 18 available in the six matches he's missed.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Westwood is considered doubtful for Tuesday's match versus West Ham because of a calf injury.

The 25-year-old started Saturday's FA Cup match versus Manchester City, but he exited after just 46 minutes because of an injury that appears set to keep him out Tuesday as well. Westwood was replaced by Jores Okore Saturday, but Villa have shuffled their lineup often in recent weeks and will likely do so again to accommodate Tuesday's available squad.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Westwood will be available for selection Tuesday versus Crystal Palace after serving his suspension.

Westwood played the full 90 minutes in the FA Cup tie against Wycombe on Saturday and received a yellow card. Even though he's a key cog in the Villa midfield with 14 starts he's not much of a fantasy contributor.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Westwood put up nine long balls, three tackles and one dribble on the way to receiving his fifth yellow card in the 2-0 loss to Norwich on Monday.

The Brit was unfortunate to pick up his fifth caution of the season just before the cut off date and will be automatically banned for the crucial visit to Sunderland on Saturday. He hasnít been a fantasy factor, though, and wonít be sorely missed.

Westwood (concussion) is starting Saturday against Everton.

Westwood has been a decent contributor in fantasy formats that reward peripheral stats, but from a full attacking perspective, he's quite limited.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Westwood (concussion) didnít make the 18-man squad for the home 0-0 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.

The Brit received a hit in the head during the game with the Spurs on Monday. He continued getting the effects of the hit during the week and couldnít recover from them on time to make the team. His place in the midfield was taken by Idrissa Gueye but is still unclear what kind of formation and who are the starters going to be, in midfield, with plenty of decent options when healthy, for the new boss Remi Garde.
