Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Six-Pack for Gameweek 12

Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer: Six-Pack for Gameweek 12

This article is part of our Mondogoal Fantasy Soccer series.

Before the Premier League embarks on another international break, Mondogoal has rolled out their Week 12 contests for the upcoming round.

As fantasy owners look to profit from this weekend's action, let's highlight a six-pack of players that could lead to prize money.

GK: Joe Hart (£8.4M)
To this point in the season, no goalkeeper has more than Hart's six clean sheets. Such success currently has Hart ranked as Mondogoal's fourth-best goalkeeper, with 63.20 total points, and this weekend he gets to play an Aston Villa team that has lost seven straight and will consequently be ushering in a new manager. Although the Citizens' game is on the road, Hart can take confidence from the facts that only one team has scored fewer goals than Aston Villa this season, and Man City have kept five clean sheets in their past seven away matches in the league.

DEF: Marcos Rojo (£8.2M)
Following teammate Luke Shaw's gruesome, season-ending leg injury earlier this season, Rojo has emerged as Manchester United's first-choice left-back in recent weeks. Along with having completed each of the Red Devils' past three league games, Rojo has clinched three clean sheets and dished out an assist as well. In doing so, he's racked up an average of 7.06 points per game on Mondogoal, which is better than teammate Chris Smalling, who happens to rank second among defenders in total points. This weekend, Rojo will look to keep his momentum going at home against a West Brom attack that's currently tied for the second-fewest goals scored this season.

MID: Philippe Coutinho (£10.8M)
A player that sometimes flatters to deceive, Coutinho entered last weekend's game at Chelsea with merely one goal through his first nine Premiership starts. However, in typical Coutinho fashion, he scored a brilliant, curling goal to remind onlookers of his ability to pop-up with a piece of class, and then scored for a second time later on.

That resulted in a season-high 20.55 Mondogoal points and could help him earn the trust of new manager Jurgen Klopp moving forward. Fresh off their first league win under Klopp, Liverpool and Coutinho should be buzzing ahead of Sunday's visit from Crystal Palace.

FWD: Jamie Vardy (£9.7M)
A former eighth-division player, Vardy has arguably been the best player in the Premier League this season, a simply remarkable development. With another goal last weekend, Vardy has amazingly now scored in eight straight games for Leicester City, who presently sit third in the standings thanks to their star striker. The Englishman has hit the back of the net 11 times already this season, making him Mondogoal's top point producer with 124.70 on the campaign. Still, his £9.7M valuation is rather affordable, making him a no-brainer to include in lineups ahead of this weekend's matchup against Watford.

FWD: Odion Ighalo (£10.4M)
Don't look now, but with a brace against West Ham last weekend, only Vardy has scored more than Ighalo's seven goals this season. Additionally, prior to his two goals last time out, Ighalo registered a pair of assists in Week 10. On the whole, the Nigerian has impressively notched seven goals and two assists across his last eight appearances for club and country. That evidences Ighalo's special form, which justifies paying his £10.4M salary despite the fact that his team has only managed one goal that wasn't scored or assisted by Ighalo. Knowing that, Ighalo will be a marked man when Watford takes on Vardy and Leicester City this Saturday.

FWD: Olivier Giroud (£8.6M)
With teammate Theo Walcott (calf) sidelined lately, Giroud has reclaimed his starting center forward position in Arsenal's high-powered attack, and he has certainly made a fantasy splash while doing so. The Frenchman scored last weekend at Swansea City and Wednesday against Bayern Munich, bringing his tally to seven goals across his last seven appearances for club and country, including one goal in three straight Premiership outings. In fact, with six goals through just 528 minutes played in the league, Giroud's 88 minutes per goal average is the best in England's top-flight among qualified players. Costing only £8.6M on MondoGoal, Giroud's run of form makes him a steal heading into this weekend's North London derby at the Emirates.
