There wasn't much to complain about last week, except that… you know, the Premier League's leading goal scorer, Harry Kane, failed to score or assist in a 3-0 home win. Or that Romelu Lukaku, the most popular player in the double gameweek, didn't do anything. Besides that, it was a mostly successful week, especially for the Crystal Palace defense, which had two clean sheets.
Sergio Aguero tallied for the second straight week, Jamie Vardy put in a couple and Graziano Pelle continued his top form.
But fear not, Gameweek 34 is set to be fantastic with 15 matches in all. If you haven't used a wildcard yet, this may be the perfect time. Of the teams with doubles, Manchester United and Arsenal both have two home matches.
That said, Alexis Sanchez should be the main man to focus on between those clubs for the armband. Alexis has scored or assisted in five straight matches and is always around when Arsenal put one into the back of the net. Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck both deserve a look, but neither have been as consistent as Alexis.
With two matches at the Emirates against lowly Crystal Palace and West Brom, Alex Iwobi could be a sneaky contrarian play along with defender Hector Bellerin. Iwobi has been great for the Gunners since coming into the squad, with two goals and two assists in the last three games. And in addition to Bellerin being a clean sheet threat, he has a goal and three assists in the last four games.
The goals haven't been as consistent for Man United – only two scored in the last four matches – but it'll be hard to ignore the Red Devils with home matches against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace. The problem for United is that none of their players have been doing all that much.
It may be wise to consider a defender like Chris Smalling or Marcos Rojo in the hopes of a clean sheet. The main players to consider for United – and maybe only ones – are Juan Mata and Anthony Martial. But still, Mata has zero goals and one assist in his last four league matches and Martial is similar with one goal and zero assists. It is worth nothing that Mata didn't play in Wednesday's FA Cup match, so he'll definitely be rested.
Captaining a player without a double gameweek would be a mistake, unless you have full faith in Jamie Vardy to continue his scoring run.
Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton and Watford are four more relevant clubs with doubles. Neither City nor Watford have a home match and should probably be ignored, outside of one player.
Most will automatically turn their attention to Sergio Aguero even with two road contests. City travel to Chelsea and Newcastle, but location doesn't change Aguero's effectiveness and he should be good for at least one tally, especially at St. James' Park.
Romelu Lukaku is always in for consideration, but not many will trust him after last week's flop in a double gameweek.
Don't expect a clean sheet from Liverpool, but Daniel Sturridge has done nothing but produce since coming into the squad. He has scored or assisted in his last four matches and will have chances to continue that streak against Bournemouth and Everton.
West Ham have scored at least two goals in four straight, but a road match at Leicester could see that streak end. Because of that, it may be best to shy away from captaining any of the Hammers.
