PLAYER RECOMMENDATIONS

GOALKEEPER

Keylor Navas, RM v. APO ($6,000): Navas missed out over the weekend but looks set to return Wednesday. Real Madrid are the biggest favorite on the slate by a wide margin and should coast to an easy win. If you have the funds, Navas looks like an easy 10 fantasy points, at the least.

Jose Reina, NAP at SHK ($5,000): Napoli are firing on all cylinders and, while they're on the road, they have the firepower to get a result in Ukraine. They have won all five games played this season by a combined score of 13-2, and have kept three clean sheets over that stretch. Reina checks in at a discount compared to the more expensive options at the position.

DEFENDER

Marcelo, RMD v. APO ($5,900): Marcelo is good for a dusting of shots and crosses anytime he steps on the field, and in a game where Real Madrid are expected to score goals, it would be no surprise to see the Brazilian show up with a goal or an assist.

Ben Davies, TOT v. BVB ($5,400): Davies takes the occasional corner for Tottenham and has already had at least 10 crosses in two Premier League games this season. He's consistently putting together double-digit fantasy scores and will look to continue his fine run of form in an attractive matchup with Borussia Dortmund.

Joseph Gomez, LIV v. SEV ($4,100): Gomez has benefited from Nathaniel Clyne being sidelined and has responded well when given the opportunity. If he's in the lineup he's fully capable of duplicating his recent 15-point performance against Arsenal, which came through three tackles won, three interceptions, four crosses and an assist. It's possible that Trent Alexander-Arnold could start instead of Gomez, and he's a reasonable pivot at $3,800 if that happens.

MIDFIELDER

Christian Eriksen, TOT v. BVB ($8,600): Eriksen drives the Tottenham attack and can pile up shots and crosses in a hurry. Spurs will look to him once again in what could turn into a back-and-forth affair with Borussia Dortmund. He's fully capable of turning up with a goal or assist, but he provides a safety net through his crossing volume and shots if he doesn't.

Toni Kroos, RM v. APO ($7,100): Sure, there are flashier names on the board than Kroos, but he's reasonably priced for a set-piece taker on the biggest favorite of the slate. He's topped double-digit fantasy points in four straight (including international) appearances, and looks like a slam dunk to make it five in a row at home against APOEL.

Valon Ahmedi, MAR v. SPM ($3,800): Ahmedi compiled 21 fantasy points in Maribor's two-game UCL playoff win over Hapoel Beer-Sheva through a cluster of crosses, shots and fouls drawn. His price is low enough that he doesn't have to do a lot to make value, which bodes well for a set-piece taker and key attacker playing at home in what should be a competitive match.

FORWARD

Cristiano Ronaldo, RM v. APO ($10,600): With Ronaldo still serving his La Liga suspension, he'll be licking his chops at the prospect of feasting on APOEL and padding his Champions League stats. Word out of the Real Madrid camp is that Ronaldo is dying to play Wednesday, and with Karim Benzema out, Ronaldo will shoulder even more of the scoring load. Don't over think it, make room for Ronaldo.

Roberto Firmino, LIV v. SEV ($7,700): There's a possibility that Phillipe Coutinho could return to the lineup Wednesday, but I think that only adds to Firmino's appeal. Sevilla have shown to be exploitable at the back, and with Liverpool looking to kickstart their Champions League campaign, Firmino should have multiple opportunities to contribute in this one.

Emil Forsberg, RBL v. MON ($7,100): Forsberg missed Friday's game against Hamburger due to illness, but he is back in training and looks set to feature against Monaco. He's on a share of set pieces, and in what could turn into an entertaining match, Forsberg should have the opportunity to rack up shots and crosses with Leipzig looking to impress at home in their Champions League opener.
