RotoWire.com Access Troubleshooting
CALL US AT (608) 310-4278 AFTER TRYING THE STEPS BELOW AND WE'LL BE HAPPY TO HELP YOU
If you are having issues logging in, please try going to this page to log in: There are several factors that may be preventing your access to our service, most of which involve an easy troubleshoot. Here are the main reasons, with the solution: 1) YOU'RE NOT LOGGED INTry manually logging in again. Just scroll to the top of the page and look in the upper left hand corner. Does it say "Login" with two login boxes next to it? If so, enter your username and password and click "Go". Or does it say "Sign Out"? If so, click that button. Then login with your username and password. 2) YOU'RE NOT LOGGED IN UNDER YOUR PAID ACCOUNT Click here: http://www.rotowire.com/users/subinfo.htm and make sure this is your current username and password and that your expiration date hasn't passed. If you're mistakenly logged in under an old or incorrect username, simply follow the steps in #1 and you should be all set. If you forgot any of your current information, make sure your e-mail address is up to date and then click here: http://www.rotowire.com/users/sendEmail.htm We'll e-mail your password to you right away. 3) CACHE NEEDS TO BE CLEARED You can clear your cache by holding down the SHIFT key and while holding that down, reloading the page. A lot of times fixes the problems your own PC is having with the site. 4) UNCOOPERATIVE OR OUTDATED BROWSER If you're accessing RotoWire through AOL or Internet Explorer, make sure your PC is set up to enable cookies. Make sure you have the "cookies" enabled on your browser. You need to allow cookies to access our site. If you are using Internet Explorer, you can go to "Tools" at the top of the browser (next to File, Edit, View...) and then "Internet Options." In "Internet Options" you can click on the "Security" tab and lower your security options. That will enable our cookie to be set so you can use the site. You can delete the current cookies file on your PC if it's causing it to not work properly, which will reset everything back to normal. For example, if you are using Internet Explorer you would select "Tools" and then "Internet Options" from the top menu bar. This should bring up a panel that has a button on it which says "Delete Cookies". Press this button, shut down ALL instances of IE, and open it back up. If that doesn't work, tech savvy users might try deleting the actual www.RotoWire.com cookies file from your computer. If you are a Mac user and you're using the new Safari browser, make sure you download Netscape or another browser to go with your Safari program, as Safari is the only current browser not currently set up to support RotoWire (we're working on a solution to this). If you're really having problems with AOL or Explorer, you can try downloading Netscape (which is free) and begin accessing any password required sites you use through there. This will work, because Netscape has a more user friendly cookies setup. 5) YOUR PC IS BLOCKING THE ROTOWIRE.COM URL FOR SOME REASON Go to www.rotonews.com or www.rotonews.net or www.rotonews.org and log in. If you still have problems, it is very likely that it's an issue with your browser settings/cookies as described above. 6) YOUR COMPUTER'S CLOCK IS SET TO THE WRONG DATE/TIME Sometimes your computer's clock can get set to an incorrect date/time. That can prevent you from logging into websites. Simply change the clock to the correct date/time, close and reopen your browser, and try logging in again. SOME OTHER SUGGESTIONS ONCE YOU'RE BACK IN WORKING ORDER. -- Don't "Sign Out" when you leave the site if you are using the same computer each day. -- Don't ever give your username and password to another person. While this may make you look like a nice person at first, you're going to end up having problems on your own account once the system sees multiple logins at the same time. Hopefully that helps on all counts and you're in good shape. If not, please CALL US AT (608) 310-4278 AFTER TRYING THE STEPS ABOVE AND WE'LL BE HAPPY TO HELP YOU!!! It should take just a few moments as we talk you through it. As always, thanks for using our service. THE ROTOWIRE TEAM |
