Sykes supplied a career-high 33 points (12-19 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 7-11 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 33 minutes during Sunday's 84-70 regular-season finale loss to the Mercury.

Though the Dream failed to make the playoffs, Sykes finished the 2017 regular season on the highest note of her career. The rookie out of Syracuse flashed her potential all throughout the season, posting 13.9 points (on 40.8 percent from the field and 33.6 percent from three), 4.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists across 25.4 minutes per game. She was a solid DFS option all year, especially during the home stretch, as she averaged 17.8 points per game over her last 10 appearances.

Brittney Sykes: Past News Updates   ( ▲ View most recent update )

August 27, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes posted 16 points (5-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 4-6 FT), six rebounds and one assist across 34 minutes in Saturday's win over the Fever.

Sykes has had a really solid stretch through the second half of August, as she's also posted at least four rebounds in each contest. With her recent production, Sykes has become one of the more consistent and reliable DFS options in the backcourt.

August 16, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes accumulated 23 points (8-20 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 5-7 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two blocks across 37 minutes during Tuesday's 96-75 loss to the Sun.

Just one game after tallying a career-high 28 points Saturday, the rookie guard finished with another 20-point outing Tuesday. She's also taken 20 or more shots over each of the past two games. If that trend continues, she'll have to be seriously considered in DFS on a regular basis, despite her modest season averages of 13.1 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists across 24.5 minutes per contest.

August 14, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes went off for 28 points (11-22 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-5 FT) during Saturday's 68-84 loss to the Stars, while adding four rebounds, three assists and three turnovers across 35 minutes.

With fellow star Tiffany Hayes struggling over the last few games, Sykes has taken on more of the scoring load. She put up a whopping 22 shot attempts Saturday, but was hitting at a high rate as well, considering she finished the game with a 50 percent clip from the field. The 28 points marked a season-high for the rookie guard, who appears to be a young star in the making. While her season averages of 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists don't necessarily scream high fantasy value, her strong surge in recent weeks should put her on the radar as one of more intriguing fantasy options on a night-to-night basis.

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes tallied 16 points (6-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists and one block across 28 minutes during Friday's 83-77 loss to the Liberty.

Friday marked a return to form for Sykes, who shot 2-of-12 during the Dream's previous affair. While she's certainly not the most efficient player out there, making just 38.9 percent of her shots on the year, she's shown ability throughout the season to put together efficient, high-scoring performances. Over the past 10 games, she's posted 15.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.7 assists across 29.1 minutes per contest -- numbers worthy of DFS consideration.

July 31, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes collected 14 points (5-15 FG, 4-4 FT), five rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks across 28 minutes in Sunday's loss to the Mystics.

Sykes recorded her thirteenth straight game scoring in the double figures, something that's become consistent for the rookie ever since she started receiving a heavier load of playing time. Due to her stable scoring, she should be considered an intriguing DFS option on most nights as long as her minutes stay high.

July 26, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes recorded a team-high 20 points (9-23 FG, 1-3 3PT, 1-2 FT), 13 rebounds and two assists across 36 minutes in Tuesday's win over the Mercury.

Despite committing six turnovers, the most she's had all season, Sykes' first double-double of the season helped lead the Dream to a victory over the Mercury. The rookie quickly turned into an offensive threat once she started receiving increased playing time, as she was only seeing time in the single digits at the start of the season. She's posted three straight games surpassing 20 points and 11 consecutive games in the double figures, and with that said, she should be viewed as an attractive DFS option.

July 20, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Heading into All-Star Weekend, Sykes is averaging 11.7 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game on the season.

A part-time starter, Sykes is averaging just over 21 minutes per game and shooting an efficient 38.6 percent from beyond the arc. On Tuesday against the Stars, Sykes established a then-career-high with 20 points before following up with 27 points in Wednesday's loss to the Mystics.

July 19, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes provided a career-high 26 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 11-11 FT) to go along with four assists, three rebounds and one steal across 32 minutes during Wednesday's 100-96 overtime loss to the Mystics.

Just one game after dropping a career-high 20 points, Sykes went ahead and dropped 26 points during Wednesday's overtime game, though it didn't lead to a victory. She's having a breakout month, averaging 17.4 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 39.8 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from long range. She'll look to carry her momentum into the All-Star break and come out hot for the second half of the season.

July 18, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes provided a career-high 20 points (5-16 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 9-10 FT) to go along with four rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal across 26 minutes during Tuesday's 88-75 victory over the Stars.

Though she saw just 26 minutes on the floor, Sykes was able to drop a career-high 20 points Tuesday against the struggling Stars. She's caught fire this month, averaging 17.0 points (on 41.3 percent from the field, 45.8 percent from three and 100 percent from the charity stripe), 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 blocks across 30.6 minutes per game. At this rate, it appears that Sykes should be considered in DFS on most, if not all, days that the Fever roll the ball out.

July 16, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes posted 16 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and one assist across 25 minutes during Saturday's 84-90 loss to the Storm.

Sykes is on a roll right now and has scored 15 or more points in six straight games. Her season average of 10.4 points per game is a bit misleading due to her small workload at the start of the season, so those looking to use her in DFS contests should focus more on her recent output, which suggests Sykes is going to be an intriguing fantasy option on most nights.

July 13, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes totaled 16 points (6-18 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and four assists across 34 minutes in Wednesday's loss to the Mercury.

The rookie has made tremendous improvements since the beginning of the season, now on a seven-game streak with double-figure points. Right now, she's averaging 10.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists across 19.8 minutes per tilt. Since it appears that Sykes is getting the hang of professional play, she should be viewed as a DFS contender.

July 11, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes recorded 18 points (6-17 FG, 4-5 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight rebounds and three blocks across 32 minutes during Sunday's 98-78 victory over the Wings.

Sykes' fantasy stock continues to rise as she put together another impressive performance Sunday. She's now recorded at least 13 points and four rebounds in each of her last six games, with highs of 19 points, nine rebounds, four assists, two steals and three blocks in over that stretch. It seems like Sykes has finally found her comfort zone at this point in the season and makes for an intriguing DFS play.

July 8, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes tallied 18 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block across 34 minutes during Friday's 89-68 victory over the Fever.

After an inconsistent workload to start the season, Sykes has been on a roll over the past five games, averaging 16.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.2 blocks across 31.0 minutes per game. Assuming she continues to see around 30 minutes of work every night, her fantasy stock could continue to rise.

July 6, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes recorded 15 points (5-14 FG, 1-1 3PT, 4-4 FT), four rebounds, two steals, and five turnovers in 25 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Wings.

The rookie has seen a drastic influx in minutes since the beginning of the season, allowing her to see more opportunities on the floor and record six double-digit games during the past eight contests. Sykes definitely has potential to become one of the Dream's scoring threats, and because of her limited playing time at the beginning of the season, her averages of 8.5 points and 3.3 rebounds aren't completely reflective of her current playing status.

July 5, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes posted 19 points (9-16 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-1 FT), nine rebounds, two blocks and two turnovers across 33 minutes during Sunday's 72-81 win over the Liberty.

After a very slow start to the year, Sykes has really picked up her game of late and she's now posted three straight games in double figures. Over that three-game stretch, she's averaged an impressive 16.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.0 steal and 2.5 blocks across 31.7 minutes, so she's getting a ton of playing time and has been extremely productive. She's definitely an option to consider in DFS contests moving forward if she continues to take on such a big role offensively.

June 11, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes recorded 11 points (4-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, one steal and four turnovers across 20 minutes during Saturday's 71-104 loss to the Sun.

Sykes has seen her playing time skyrocket recently, logging 29 and 20 minutes, respectively, over the last two games. She's translated that into back-to-back double-digit scoring performances, which could potentially earn her even more time moving forward. Rookies often have trouble with consistency, so that will be something to take into consideration with Sykes moving forward. However, if she continues to see a larger workload, she could definitely turn into a solid DFS option on any given night.

June 8, 2017

RotoWire Fantasy Analysis

Sykes recorded a season-high 14 points (5-13 FG, 4-5 FT), seven rebounds, two assists, and one block during Wednesday's fall to the Liberty.

Despite shooting 38.5 percent from the field, Sykes had her most productive game of the season in all categories. Before Wednesday's matchup, the rookie's season-high in scoring was seven, whereas her season-high in rebounding was previously just two. The guard out of Syracuse is currently averaging 4.3 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.6 assists across 10.1 minutes over seven games.
