March 12, 2021
Atkins (foot) has returned to training and is slated to be available for the beginning of the season, the AFL's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
A week ago, it was believed Atkins wouldn't be ready for the start of the season. It appears the tune has changed in the past week and he should be in the mix for the opener. Atkins appeared in four games for the Crows last season, notching 9.3 disposals, two tackles and a mark per appearance.

Slated to miss start of season
MGold Coast Suns
Foot
March 4, 2021
Atkins is in line to miss the opening of the season due to a foot issue, the AFL's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Atkins has reportedly rejoined the main group but won't be quite up to speed for the start of the season. Look for more information to surface when he's cleared for his first AFL action of the 2021 home and away season.
Off injury list
MAdelaide Crows
July 21, 2020
Atkins (shoulder) is no longer labeled on the Crows' injury list, per the AFL's official site.
ANALYSIS
Atkins was expected to rejoin the fray in Round 7 but ultimately didn't and will instead align with a return for the Sunday's clash with the Bombers. He started the season on a strong note but didn't perform particularly well in Round 2, though it came against the ladder-leading Power. He'll aim to get back on track versus an Essendon squad sitting in a five-way tie for fifth in the ladder.
Absent from extended lineup
MAdelaide Crows
Shoulder - AC Joint
July 17, 2020
Atkins (shoulder) has not been included in the Crows' extended lineup for Monday's match versus St. Kilda, Kieron Turner of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Atkins was believed to be in a position to take the field for the contest, but he won't do so for one reason or another. It's quite possible the shoulder issue is behind him but that the team has elected to give him a run in the practice match before potentially redeploying him on the AFL side after nearly a month on the sidelines.
On track to play
MAdelaide Crows
Shoulder - AC Joint
July 14, 2020
Per Crows Head of Science and Medicine Steve Saunders, Atkins (shoulder) is expected to have a "normal week" of training and is slated to play Monday versus St. Kilda, James Hetherington of the team's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Atkins has been sidelined since Round 3 due to a high-grade shoulder issue, leaving a struggling Crows squad without some of its firepower in the midfield. Barring a setback during training, look for Atkins to retake his spot as Adelaide aims for its first victory of 2020 in a tough matchup versus St. Kilda.
Sidelined 4-6 weeks
MAdelaide Crows
Shoulder - AC Joint
June 23, 2020
Atkins will miss between four and six weeks due to high-grade AC joint injury suffered Sunday versus Gold Coast.
ANALYSIS
After suppling a goal, 24 disposals and seven tackles in the first two rounds, Atkins was only able to manage three disposals and a tackle before leaving Sunday's match. His absence from the wing will leave an already struggling Crows club without some firepower for the foreseeable future.
