Paton has been ruled out for the 2021 season due to tibia and fibula fractures, the AFL's official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Paton was a significant contributor for the Saints during the 2020 season, racking up 12.5 disposals, 4.3 marks and 1.1 tackles per game. He, unfortunately, won't get an opportunity to serve in a similar role in 2021 following the major injury and will instead turn his focus toward getting right for 2022.

Concussion
August 16, 2020
Paton exited Sunday's match versus the Bombers after landing awkwardly on his head and was unable to return, Greg Davis of The Age reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear if Paton will be right ahead of Round 13 versus Brisbane next Sunday, but his absence would certainly be felt on the back end. Paton was only able to contribute a disposal prior to leaving.
