Closer Watch

Phillies – With Jonathan Papelbon unavailable after pitching three of the last four days, the Phillies went with B.J. Rosenberg in the ninth Sunday, and he tossed a clean ninth for his first save. Rosenberg's looked terrific since returning to Philadelphia in mid-August, not allowing a run over 10.2 innings with an 11:4 K:BB; in his May audition, he surrendered four runs in three innings with a 2:2 K:BB. Still, the job is Papelbon's… this year.

Athletics – Bizarrely, Brett Anderson is turning the three-innings save into a bit of a specialty, as he's collected three of them in just a 12-day span. So bizarre, it's quite intriguing. At this point, we may have to consider Anderson the "closer" whenever the A's can build a big lead early and he's fresh enough. Meanwhile, Grant Balfour's still collecting the standard saves.

Recommended Pickup
Jarrod Dyson, OF, KC – Own Jacoby Ellsbury or Starling Marte? Dyson could be the cure for what ails you, as the widely available speedster's been playing almost every day – a situation that may change somewhat with the return of Lorenzo Cain, but there's certainly a good chance Dyson plays most days. And he's been delivering, to the tune of a .311 average and six steals in the last two weeks. He's a quick fix for your speed needs.

Other Recent Recommendations: Josh Rutledge, Chris Colabello, Yovani Gallardo, Jordan Schafer, Denard Span
