Nine strikeouts is a demanding number, but few starters have the ceiling to make it worthwhile at plus-money quite like Misiorowski. The Milwaukee right-hander enters Tuesday with 236 strikeouts, co-leading the majors with Toronto's Dylan Cease, but reaching that mark in one fewer start and five fewer innings. His 0.80 WHIP and opposing batting average of .156 speak dominance even more than his elite 1.95 ERA, and if there's one pitcher who can reach the 8.5-strikeout mark with relative ease, that's The Miz.
The Pirates are also starting Lake Bachar opposite Misiorowski, increasing the likelihood that Milwaukee's ace pitches with a lead and gets the opportunity to work deep enough to accumulate punchouts. Misiorowski has already demonstrated that double-digit strikeout performances are firmly within his range, as he's done that in 10 times already this season, and he fanned nine in his last start. At +116, the mark of over 8.5 strikeouts is an appealing price for what he can do on the mound.

Los Angeles Dodgers 
vs. Cincinnati Reds 
- Yoshinobu Yamamoto Over 7.5 strikeouts (-104 FanDuel)
The immediate rematch makes this one particularly attractive. Yamamoto faced Cincinnati just six days ago and carved up the Reds for 10 strikeouts while allowing only one run across seven innings. He's also been working exceptionally deep into games, averaging an MLB-best 6.62 innings per start, providing more opportunities to clear a line that requires eight punchouts. Yamamoto has recorded at least eight strikeouts in each of his last five starts, and it's hard to see the Reds solving him on the mound based on what happened six days ago.
At nearly even-money, this is an excellent price considering his combination of form, workload and recent success in this exact matchup. Yamamoto enters Tuesday with a 13-8 record, a 2.62 ERA and 171 strikeouts across 172 innings this season.

The Athletics 
vs. Tampa Bay Rays 
- Griffin Jax Over 5.5 strikeouts (+115 BetMGM)
Jax presents a different proposition than Misiorowski and Yamamoto, and while he's nowhere near the strikeout artist the other two All-Star hurlers are. This is all about the matchup.
The Rays are lining up Jax to start the series opener against an Athletics club that enters Tuesday at 61-89, one of the worst records in the majors, and they've also been one of the worst teams in the majors in the strikeout column. Entering Tuesday's action, the A's rank 11th in the majors in total strikeouts with 1,276, and as a team, they're hitting just .246 with a .723 OPS -- hardly an imposing number.
Jax recently returned from the injured list, so workload is the primary concern, but six strikeouts doesn't require him to pitch seven innings if his swing-and-miss stuff is sharp. For what it's worth, Jax has struck out just three across 7.2 innings in his two starts since returning to the rotation after an IL stint for elbow discomfort. If he's looking to deliver a bounce-back performance, this is the game to do so.
