MLB Picks: Single Game Picks & Props for Thursday, September 10
We have just two games to focus upon for Major League Baseball on Thursday night, as the league won't go head-to-head with the NFL's game in Australia between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams, as opening week of that sport continues.
Last week in this space, we went a perfect 3-0 (100.0%, +310) in the Tampa Bay-Texas game, as we try to rev the money machine back up after a down day last Saturday.
We're going to focus upon the Colorado Rockies and New York Yankees game at 7:05 p.m. ET for our triple-play of picks. Let's get started!

Colorado Rockies at New York Yankees Best Bets and Predictions
Pick #1: Yankees -2.5 (+122 FanDuel)
As expected, the Colorado Rockies (55-90) haven't given the New York Yankees (83-62) much trouble in the current interleague series.
New York won the series opener 5-3 as gigantic favorites (-354) behind RHP Cam Schlittler, while topping the Rox 6-1 on Wednesday night, as RHP Will Warren and the Bronx Bombers got it done. The big blow was a George Lombard Jr. grand salami in the bottom of the third inning, and the Yanks never looked back.
Colorado has dropped three in a row, and it is 3-9 across the past 12 games, as it settled into September for the stretch run, just playing out the string. Once again, they're already eliminated from postseason contention, and the Rockies haven't been terribly competitive this season, although there are some nice pieces in place offensively. Pitching is always going to be a challenge at elevation, but with the right combination on offense, Colorado could once again rise to contend sooner, rather than later.
The Rockies are 2-9 in the past 11 interleague games, and they're just 25-49 on the road with a National League-worst minus-147 run differential. That's also the second-worst mark in the majors behind the Athletics (minus-187).
Colorado has to try and solve LHP Max Fried (4-4, 2.73 ERA, 0.99 WHIP), and that isn't likely to go well for it. The Rockies are 17-28 vs. LHP this season, and they're countering with RHP Ryan Feltner (5-9, 5.91 ERA, 1.58 WHIP). He can't blame all of his pitching woes on the mountains, either, as he is 1-6 with a 5.36 ERA and 1.72 WHIP in 47 IP across nine starts and 10 appearances on the road.
You can't bet New York straight up, as it will cost at or around three times your potential return. If you're a conservative bettor, you still have to eat a little chalk on the run line. But, laying the two and a half runs nets plus-money.

Pick #2: Rockies/Yankees Under 8.5 Runs (-109 BetRivers)
While I expect the Yankees offense to tee off on Feltner, the Rockies' bats will be rather quiet against the southpaw Fried.
I am not nearly as bullish on the total as I am with the side. But, the Under is the play, as Colorado's offense has cobbled together just seven runs in the past four road games, or 1.8 runs per game (RPG), while posting 2.0 RPG in the past six away from home. The pitching has allowed just 4.0 RPG in the past four road games, too, which isn't that shabby.

Pick #3: Yes - Any Run In 1st Innings (-115 Caesars)
I like the Yankees to jump all over Feltner, so don't be discouraged if you make this play, and Colorado goes 1-2-3 in the top of the first. It's not about it. We're banking on the home team to build an early lead, plain and simple.
