We're on the stretch run, where some teams have dropped by the wayside and fewer players are getting picked up in most leagues, and that extra marginal dollar matters just a little bit more among the contenders. I had one league still with a triple-digit top bid, and it was by a contending team who had been trying all year, but just hadn't spent as much until this week.
AL Tout Wars

I dropped Jasson Dominguez last week, so of course Trent Grisham subsequently got hurt, leading to Dominguez getting recalled. However, with Aaron Judge returning on Tuesday, I'm not sure how much Dominguez will play - Cody Bellinger, Spencer Jones, Heliot Ramos, and Judge all played Tuesday with Dominguez sitting out, and Ben Rice took up the DH slot.

Delt Thunder is in first place in this league, and they made another brilliant move this week in picking up Emmet Sheehan, who struck out 10 Reds on Monday. The news came out on Sunday that Sheehan would get called up and handle bulk innings duty, but instead he started and dominated, enough that he's going to get a second start Sunday in Miami.
We grabbed Cal Quantrill instead, who at least got a win, if not in dominant fashion.
Our Drops: Tyler Tolbert, Kerry Carpenter, Bryan Hudson. Carpenter is one of my whiffs of the season, and it's even worse here, as I held onto him *way too long.

So much for the notion that most leagues would be less active - that certainly wasn't true here.
Beat Jeff Erickson1

Here's the monster bid I alluded to in the intro. Hey, if you have that sort of FAAB left, no need to hoard it - go get your man. Konnor Griffin will certainly present an interesting decision for 2027 drafters, and I'm looking forward to watching more of him in September.
I settled for Davis Martin, who draws Griffin's Pirates on Wednesday, and then gets two starts against Cleveland and Detroit next week.
My Drop: Joe Musgrove.

Some leagues saw small bids win Lazaro Montes, due to the hip injury that sidelined him over the weekend, but not here, where he went for $52. I'll admit I prioritized Heriberto Hernandez over Montes for that reason. I chose ... poorly.
My favorite part of that highlight, other than the homer itself, was Cal Quantrill's reaction to it.
My Drop: Willy Adames
TGFBI

Adam Baker is winning this league and is third overall in TGFBI, so it should be a surprise that he's the smart guy that picked up Emmet Sheehan.
SCARF

Who has two thumbs and dropped Sheehan when he got sent down? This guy!!!
Who is in first place both and SCARF and in the overall EARTH series of leagues? Smart guy Kev Mahserjian (aka @RotoSurgeon), who picked Sheehan up last week.
LABR

I picked up Brett Bateman in an attempt to add cheap stolen bases, and Zeferjahn for even cheaper saves. That effort has not been rewarded yet, but the battle between DVR, Alan Harrison (aka @TheFantasyFix) rages on. So far I weathered Henry Bolte's Week of Terror in favor of DVR, but it sure would be nice to get some of those stolen bases that I tried to trade for.
I'm currently going with five relievers, hoping to sneak a save between either Zeferjahn or Tyler Wells, in addition to my three other closers - Aroldis Chapman, Yoendrys Gomez and Kodai Senga. Any port in a storm! Meanwhile, DVR has a huge lead in saves and ratios, so is trying to move in K's and Wins with nine starters, keeping three bona fide closers on his bench in Cade Smith, Mason Montgomery and Tanner Scott.
My Drop: Robert Gasser.
RotoWire Staff Keeper League

There were a couple of corrections from this FAAB run, including me actually not getting Leo Bernal due to a stat correction. That led to me getting Mickey Gasper instead of Ryan Rufe, which then led to Ryan getting another player.
Even though I preferred Bernal to Gasper, given that I'm hoping to have more keeper ammo for next season, I am disappointed to be a week too late on both he and Thomas Saggese, after the Cardinals just finished their road trip to Coors Field. I'll still take what I got, under the notion that at least they are playing regularly, which puts more "tape" out there for both for the offseason.
My Drops: Jose Fernandez, Sean Manaea (oops!), Connor Wong.
