The Dodgers have signed Storey to a minor league deal, True Blue LA reports.

ANALYSIS
The Dodgers haven't yet officially announced the deal, but the Somerset Patriots -- with whom Storey was pitching in the Atlantic League -- tweeted it out. Despite delivering credible work out of the Astros' bullpen in 2012 (3.86 ERA, 34:10 K:BB in 30.1 innings), Storey has only pitched four innings in the majors since. He was dominating as a starter in independent ball this year, with a 0.93 ERA, but of course that's a long way from the majors. Storey is expected to join Double-A Tulsa's rotation.

Storey seemingly did enough in 2012 to earn a spot in the Blue Jays' 2013 bullpen, but the right-hander spent most of the year at Triple-A Buffalo. After posting a 3.86 ERA and 10.1 K/9 with the Astros in 2012, he turned in similar peripheral numbers at the Triple-A level in 2013. It remains to be seen what 2014 will bring, as the Blue Jays appear to have a loaded bullpen, but Storey clearly deserves another shot in the majors, whether with Toronto or another squad.

Storey was not a top prospect entering the season, but he earned his first trip to the majors by posting a 3.05 ERA and 72:14 K:BB ratio in 38 minor league games, including two starts, with Triple-A Oklahoma City last season. His peripherals when he got called up looked pretty good: he sported a high strikeout rate (10.1 K/9) with low home-run totals (0.6 HR/9) and decent walk rate (3.0 BB/9). Storey bounced around between a few organizations as a waiver claim during the offseason, but is poised to compete for a bullpen spot this spring with the Blue Jays.
